Extortion Run Coming Soon

Share:

As announced on the Mafia Wars Blog, a new type of event is coming to Mafia Wars [1]. This one is called Extortion Run. Before getting too excited, remember what they did last time something new was coming [1]. The Safesmith which was presented as something new coming soon turned out to be a dud as it was just another Marketplace gimmick [1]. Hopefully this is different.
Mobsters,
An upstart business owner has refused to pay you protection money.
Show them that disrespect does not go unpunished.

Stay tuned and soon you can start your own EXTORTION RUN.

  1. Lol... yeah... always trying to hype up things... and then they usually turn out to be boring duds :P And something that most likely will require either a lot of begging... and/or a lot of RPs :P

But curious as to what this could be... extortion sounds fun :P but not holding my breath ;)

  2. More proof that Mafia Wars isn't going anywhere any time soon. The games they where closing like Ninja Kingdom didn't even even get copy/paste events. Mafia Wars is still getting brand new stuff all the time.

AKA it still actually has a proper development team behind it.

    1. Looks like another Zynga employee managed to find its way in here ;)

Haha, "A proper development team" hahaha... oh my... thanks for the laugh :) Needed that ;)

    2. Haha, this event will have a 3-pronged effect: 1 - It will have a very poorly timed release (most likely at the same time as other equally annoying events) and 2 - It will NOT be as fun as they are making it out to be and finally 3 - It WILL require massive amounts of begging and/or a lot of RPs

And what-ever it will be... the script users will most likely have the advantage - like with any other event.

So... yeah... kudos indeed to an AWESOME development team, haha... go tell your boss we need another time limited property :P We haven't had any in almost 4 days...

    3. Proof? Correct me if I am mistaken... didn't get NK get pulled eight days after they were promised huge updates? So... just because Zynga puts this on their site isn't automatically a sign of the game not being given its 2 weeks notice in eight days.

And what about all the other crap Zynga don't care about and don't address? Everyone here knows this new Extortion event will come at a lousy time and require something painful like a lot of begging around the clock. When was the last time you had any fun in MW? When was the last time you were actually smiling when logging into the game? And having fun doing events and new cities? I can't remember myself. I fear logging into the game every morning... fearing what events they have added and what crap we now have to go through and for how long. These days, a good day in MW is when nothing new has been added... and you can try and finish up some of the many already released events.

      Your development team SUCK balls!!!

    4. No one forces you to play!!! No one says you have to do everything zynga throws at us. If yo hate the game so much...Then quit!!!!

  3. There's really no point to them releasing more events, since every event they release is geared towards serial levelers, and they have now broken--or made more difficult--the ability to serial level, with the removal of SA.

  4. at least they are honest. they plan to extort as much cash as possible from any player left who would actually spend money.

The good news : there must be enough of those kind of people still playing for zynga to spend cash on development (no matter how lame it turns out to be)

  6. Maybe the extortion will be monthly dues from everyone that wants to continue playing. Sorta like become VIP or quit

  7. Lots of complaining, but everyone seems to keep playing every day..... even the guy commenting above who "fears logging in every morning." MW is insidiously addictive. Let's face it, folks; we will all keep playing right up until they pull the plug. Let's just hope that when they do, it will be swift and merciful.
