As many long time players have learned, never assume anything will be around for very long if it’s useful. Now that we are over the shock of the upcoming loss of South Africa, it's time to figure out what to do about it. South Africa by far was the best district to serial level in. In their attempt to slow down script abusing serial levelers, Zynga is only making it harder for smaller accounts. As you will see, Mexico can do the same thing for most of the accounts Zynga wants to slow down. With the upcoming shutdown of South Africa, if you want to keep your account(s) serial leveling, it’s very possible in Mexico and really not that much different. South Africa has much more to offer than Mexico so the first mistake many unsuspecting players made was to not fully master it. The most common thing left in Mexico for many are the Mexico Bosses. In addition to the slightly better ratios, this is most likely the reason most serial levelers have stayed in South Africa. If you want to be prepared, you will need to take care of these bosses as quickly as possible. This guide will help if you need a refresher. The Mexico Boss Fights appear about every 2 to 4 hours in each destination. You only need to do jobs to activate them. You can open up to 9 of them at the same time (1 minus the number of districts you have unlocked). If you’re determined, you can kill all 15 of them in Districts 1-10 in about 5 days. More details and a comparison of Mexico and South Africa jobs is shown below. Thanks to Jo Gilliam for talking me through the current leveling strategies in both destinations.
Districts 9
District 10
To compare, this is the combo that most used in South Africa. The ratios are 2.281 for the energy job and 2.270 for the stamina job. Serial leveling in Mexico will require that your ratio be lower because the energy job ratio is 2.259 and the stamina job is 2.232. This is still pretty doable for most serial accounts but it may require the addition of some more energy and/or stamina.
No doubt there are (apparently) legions of manual players out there who protest against scripts but still, the term "script abusing serial levelers" sounds really quite offensive. Firstly, Z have sponsored events where these script providers have been equal partners. Secondly, these players are the ones who have found an effective, and more enjoyable, way to play the game and are keeping it alive... for the time being at least...
ReplyDeleteDo you have a better term? If you use scripts 24/7, you are abusing them. Script abuse puts in a lot of server calls. I abuse them and don't find the term offensive. Zynga encourages and rewards the behavior as stated many times on this site. I used to be careful until they started making the game cater to this type of activity. Now I don't care. Without scripts, this game would have died a long time ago.
DeleteYep :)
DeleteAgreed. And if you're going to get offended by something start with Zynga and the way they have destroyed the game we all loved for many years. Now THAT is offensive...
ReplyDeleteCrossing the border to find work in Mexico. Oh the irony. :P
ReplyDeleteLOL Someone is pretty sharp!
DeleteA game is something you can't buy your way into,, unless it is poker of course. Mafia Wars has not been a true "game" since before Cuba opened up. Yet,, I still keep playing it..
ReplyDeleteZynga is annoying but nowhere near as annoying as the curse of the 21st c., the Professionally Offended. And we got one here, professionally offended in the first fkin reply to the excellent article! Go boil yer head you whingeing blockhead!
ReplyDeleteI love this game & gave it up for awhile until I discovered & learned that scripts, add-ons, and the like make the game more enjoyable & tolerable. Zynga has made the game so hard,( in their effort to make money), that so any of Us would have given up that without all the script programs available. The game would be dead by now for sure. I'm sure many of Us remember Mobsters from the days of My Space. Let's keep playing & stop hating...
ReplyDeleteIs this Zynga's way of trying the close the widening gap between the haves and the have-nots? I guess there's no such thing as working harder and longer hours and playing smarter being rewarded even in a game This current trend in trying to equalize the playing field with energy is rewarding the people who chose not to build their character with any of it. As soon as the players come up with a strategy for serial-leveling then they try to destroy it with crappy job-ratios is LA and change the jobs in Mexico to cost money instead of giving it.
ReplyDeleteMisuse, obsessive, excessive, exploit there are several other terms to describe 24hrs of script use. Abuse, at least to me is a term used to referencing harming something or someone. We breathe 24/7 that's not abuse. The only abuse I know of is Zynga's self abuse.
ReplyDeleteIf you are still going to grab energy, it would make sense to optimize stamina. your current stamina divided by the stamina of the job evenly or with no numbers after the decimal point when possible.
ReplyDeleteZynga will sink as fast as Titanic if they dont come up with better ratio for Los Angeles city job
