4X Energy Cost Reduction in Los Angeles

Share:

The main thing players hated about Los Angeles is you could only do 1 (sometimes 2) jobs per level. This makes farming currency and consumables difficult and manual players have to struggle with game navigation. The good news is that once you finish Districts 1-3 it gets better. I used a different account to perform the walkthroughs for District 4 and  District 5 than I did for Districts 1-3. At the time it was hard to tell the differences but now that I’ve done Districts 4 and 5 on the same account I used for Districts 1-3, it was easy to see the improvements. It’s still not ideal but the energy costs in Districts 4 and 5 are about 4 times less than in Districts 1-3. The energy costs are based on your total energy pool so we should all see improvements [1]. The images below are all from the same account and represent the job with the highest energy cost in each of the 5 districts of Los Angeles. The chart maps out how many of each job can be done per level. As these things have ranges, your numbers may not match but it should be in the ballpark. Hopefully Districts 6-10 will be even better.

  1. Just out of curiosity... what WOULD be ideal? The more energy you have, the less energy the jobs cost? I don't understand this at all... it's the same for all... none is being targeted or punished... simply a percentage of your total amount of energy. Seems fair to me. But I'm sure most people would rather it was the more E you have, the less E your jobs cost

    1. Your second statement answers that question. If you were a fighter and built your attack and defense really high, would you like it if Zynga all of a sudden made it so that strength was a percentage of your attack and defense? Job costs are still too high for everybody. Doing 5 or 6 jobs per level is a lot better than 1 or 2 and this totally gives the advantage to the serial levelers. The more levels you can do, the faster you will finish. I'm thinking of the players who don't have ratios that can serial level and it takes a while to level up. At 5 or 6 jobs a pop, it isn't that easy to farm what you need and then finish.

    2. so... your idea of an ideal game would be... the more energy you have, the less energy your jobs would cost? And that would be the equivalent of saying... the more attack you have the harder you hit? I don't this k it's fair to compare attack and energy 50-50... fighting and doing jobs shouldn't be compared. That would mean a fighter who has 10000 energy but 100000 attack would have jobs costing 5000 energy, while an account with 100000 energy but 10000 attack would have jobs costing 500 energy. How on EARTH would that be ideal?? Since fighting is pointless in this game and has been for years... why would anyone then want to add to attack or defense??? No... this idea makes no sense to at all either... unless of course I was playing on auto 24-7 using scripts and wanted to be able to level more and more and more using less and less and less... so, maybe I DO understand why this would be ideal to you and A LOT of others ;)

    3. Lol, you miss the point here. I think it went way over your head. Go read the profile description of energy. You add it to do more jobs. You add to a/d to win more fights. I used a/d as an example. This doesn't affect serial levelers at all. We just need to level and can do as many jobs as we want regardless of how much they cost. The players with ratios below serial leveling is who this affects and fighters would normally fall in that category. Fighting may be pointless to you but it's not for many who do wars and like to fight. The way it is, is rather ideal for me because I can serial level. It's another way Zynga caters to those who use scripts.

    4. I think you misunderstood each other. Maybe not. But you're confusing me now, lol.

Anon is asking if you want job energy to be lessened as your own energy pool increases, thus making higher e-hos jobs cost less than basic e-account. Making it silly unbalanced. (I can say ALL players do NOT want that.)

You appear to not want that. You want job energy as a percentage of your energy pool, but for zynga to make it across ALL players to be able to do more than 1 or 2 job clicks per energy pool.

Like taxes, I would hope you want a flat tax that impacts all the same way ....and not, the richer you are, the less tax you pay.

    5. I never said I wanted the costs to be less as your energy gets higher. The point is the number of jobs you can do. I don't think anyone wants a few jobs a level. Farming becomes impossible for some and historically that has been players who choose NOT to add to energy. I don't add to attack/defense and I expect to lose to more players because of that choice. Those choosing not to add to energy most likely expected not to do as many jobs. Now we are all very limited. While 5 or 6 clicks per level is far better than 1 or 2, it's still not ideal as everybody needs to farm consumables and cash. With scripts, serial levelers can easily do this with little hassle but it's the ones who need to jump through hoops to level that it affects the most. This move only gave the serial levelers the advantage and I imagine it's purpose was to slow them down. Anytime Zynga tries to slow down the serial levelers, they end up hurting the other players. As they continue to reward script users, they will lose the ones who don't use them and that isn't fair. Of course those not using scripts always have the option to start.

    6. As far as I'm concerned, players who actively add to energy should get more clicks/job than someone who doesn't add to it. The way things are now, you can remain at default energy (what is it... 100 skill points?) and never have to bother spending skill points for energy, because zynga will shrink your requirements, based on your energy pool, and let you have the same number of clicks (or perhaps even more, from what I have seen) as someone who has worked hard and spent skill points--and money!!--in energy. If you want to compare it to strength skills, it would be like zynga making everyone the same strength, regardless how much a player has added to a/d. There is absolutely no difference. So in fact, zynga has punished those who have worked hard to keep their energy skills up to speed to meet increasing game demands. If I want to add to energy so I can do more jobs, I should have that option. Right now I have over 30K energy and I'm no better off than someone with, as I say above, default energy. There is no further incentive to add to energy.

  2. Money and XP/energy ratios are what have killed me.

  4. I believe we had a similar trajectory in South Africa. District 3 was brutal for the energy required but then it went down a bit. How unlike Zynga to repeat a pattern.............

  5. As far as the cost for Energy being high is no big deal to me, the one thing that is upsetting me is Zynga and there views are so stubborn its not funny being no loot drops unless you do the job 5 to 6 times to get just 1 piece of loot.. It would be nice if they let more drop when the energy is so high for these jobs

    1. you hit the nail kn the head. if your a serial leveler, you can level up, and continue?

  6. If you are going to compare...compare energy to stamina. Maybe the cost to attack should be based on the amount of stamina you have.
