Earlier today we announced that the new destination is going to be Los Angeles [1]. I was curious as to what the currency would be. Thanks to an anonymous comment, I tried using buck in the currency image link and it came up. It makes sense because we are collecting Bucklers for the pre-release event.
Great guess by your reader! As for Zynga, not even a pretense for why NYC Cash can't be used in another USA City.
ReplyDeleteSame reason why we can't use NY Cash in Chicago and Vegas.
Deletemaybe cos there is no Vegas
DeleteOK, smartass, we couldn't when there WAS a Vegas
DeleteFWIW, the gimmick in Vegas was chips. And yes, in Vegas chips are local currency. And bad guys counterfeit them. The Chicago gimmick, as I said elsewhere, was that the setting was in the Prohibition era. The dollars then were not Federal Reserve Notes and NYC $ would not be accepted. But the imagery for LA is contemporary. Unless MW claims their 'Bucks' are like Bitcoins, the NYC bank should be good there.
Deletereal original Zynga
ReplyDeleteActually it is. I've played just about every other text based mafia themed game going from every other company imaginable and for once Zynga can't be faulted with the currency system used in it.
DeleteEvery single other one of them games every destination around the world uses Dollars. From the exact same pile of cash as the standard NY or Chicago destination. Go Moscow or Paris or Dubai and you end up using the Dollars you earned already to buy more properties and loot somewhere else.
This is the ONLY thing MW does to be the other game massively. At least they bother to have a new currency each destination while the other games don't. I'm always one of the first to hand out bad remarks and call Zynga a bunch of slackers but seriously credit where it's due on this point.
bottom line who cares the way this game is playing rumors on Wall Street 6 months and its gone
ReplyDeletethat rumor has existed for years
