Last month Zynga announced the Diamond Tier of VIP Benefits would be added to the VIP Membership Program [1]. At the time all they told us was that the harbinger was going to be called the Harbinger of Supremacy. They could have stopped right there because the rest of the benefits aren’t that much to get excited about. They didn’t stop but they went on to show us the next tier which is the Elite Black [1]. The Elite Black benefits are a joke. Zynga missed the boat on the allure of 2X Property Builds. VIP Diamond+ subscribers will be able to do it everyday but they will have to pay 50 reward points thereby making this deal not what it used to be. Collecting an additional reward point from the Daily Fix feature is the one solid benefit from the program and will equal 28-31 extra reward points a month (the loot is a joke because it’s not active for VIP subscribers so that doesn’t count as part of the benefit). Having 4 extra Crew positions is nothing. The rest of the benefits need to be paid for (minus the standard additions of the free harbinger and skills and mafia scores). The Elite Black isn’t much better. Sure extra experience from fighting is great but it’s not going to add up very fast because traditional fighting is way too slow. Crafting Kamikazes and Arena Stamina Refills with Power Cards is cool but thanks to events like the Arena Smashup, who has extra Power Cards these days? All the 'free' harbingers will be increased by +250/+250 for 'free' which is nothing to complain about but this will only add 1,250 points to each side of your equipment scores. If you signed up on day 1 and stayed subscribed, the Diamond Benefits will kick in on April 5th and the Elite Black on October 5th of 2015.
Talk about a slap in the face for VIP members. If you've been around this long with them and paying for the stupid game you would have thought they would have something better to offer? Pay for 2x builds...you have GOT to be kidding me. No wonder VIP members are quitting...the benefits just don't make it worth it. Zynga take notice...you are going to lose your VIP subscribers offering useless benefits! Offer things like 50+ skill points every week, abilities to "skip X mission tasks". etc. Wake up!

ReplyDeletean offer was givein out to those zynga felt was "new" vips.... i got the offer to jump from ruby to emerald for free ... was 15 months jump :D Cant complain about that but you skip all the loot, rp and so on that they gave you on those levels.
ReplyDeleteLooks like elite black is the end of the road for the VIP membership. upgrading all the previous harbingers makes it sounds like a done deal.
ReplyDeleteThis game could be so much more, so much potential. I think that's what frustrates me most when playing. Not the oddity in which the game is run, just the sheer potential.
