UPDATE: The email gifts have returned.
In May of last year, players started to get email gifts from Zynga. It was soon discovered that all you needed to do was sign up and you would get one everyday [1]. Ever since those who signed up have been getting these pretty decent gifts everyday. There haven’t been any of these emails sent out since January 12th and we are getting a lot of questions about them. If you go to the sign up page the option for Mafia Wars is still there so I’m not really sure why these gifts have mysteriously stopped. Gifts that have been sent but not redeemed are still active so you can still collect as many of those as you have in your inbox. There are 2 different types of these gifts, one for inactive and one for active players and the Mystery Gifts appear to be the same for both types of accounts. You can get skill points, reward points, Energy Tonics, 2X Mastery Boosts or a special loot item (which is an old Crate item and has not been updated for a very long time). We will post more on this topic if any new information is discovered.
Obviously this was something that "upset the playing balance and economy of the game"

ReplyDeleteI have tried many, many times to sign up for the email bonus. Mafia Wars has always been checked on the email settings page and I have never, ever gotten the email gift. I wonder what the email address they might be using. This may be moot if nobody's getting them.
ReplyDeleteIm more curious to why i dont get any of these when i signed up the first time, but my mini does and i didnt sign up with that, try to answer that instead.

Is that woman on the picture of the email bonus the one from that 5 bosses boss fight event that we just had by any chance?
ReplyDeleteI thought they stopped it during the arena event so folk spend money on rp to buy boosts and kamekazis to try and get the gold item andmaximum tokens for ranking 1

ReplyDeleteI've been getting them just fine, but hadn't collected today. So just checked. Yesterday's and today's gifts are there for me to collect. Thanks for all you do!!
