Mexico Job Updates: Districts 7-10

Share:

Yesterday Zynga announced that ‘minor’ changes were made to some of the jobs in Districts 7-10 of Mexico due to an observation of imbalanced game play and game economy [1]. Zynga claims that this change will be will be unnoticeable for most because they have kept the highest XP payout jobs in all districts intact. This is a load of bull because as we are all aware the highest payout jobs require consumables and/or currency so we aren’t doing them anyway. What we notice is changes in the jobs that we do to level, farm consumables and acquire currency. These key jobs that are known to many have all been nerfed and the majority of strategic players noticed right away. The players who will have issues with this update are the ones still struggling to master the destination. Ironically the players who are being targeted by Zynga are the ones who will have no issues setting up their scripts to do jobs in South Africa instead. Mexico was released in May of last year and there has been ample time for serial levelers to get achievements, master districts and farm thousands of consumables and millions in currency.  Below is the anatomy of this nerf starting off with this chart that can be used to compare what the payout were before and what they are now. The jobs in red are the ones that changed and the images that follow show more details. A ‘+’ is used to indicate that a job pays out Pesos. Because currency payouts depend on your class, they aren’t the same for all players.

The chart above is a quick and dirty way to see the changes in one glance. The images below are the ruby level jobs before and after the nerf. The links will go to the walkthrough to each district and someday I may update those.

Now a look at the new jobs. What they have in common is they had good ratios and most of them produced consumables. A total of 16 jobs were affected. 2 from District 7, 6 from District 8, 4 from District 9 and 4 from District 10.

  1. Typical Zynga BULLSHIT! If they wouldn't make so many jobs NEGATIVE pesos some people might have a chance to do the districts. This is a definite direction change that has been going on now for the last couple of cities. It is tough enough already, but with all the jobs requiring currency (especially the ones that require consumables), how in the HELL is anybody supposed to finish them, especially the casual non-serial leveling accounts? Put the damn jobs and payouts back you morons!

  2. Lame. As. Hell. And completely freakin' typical. Another one of the many reasons I play this game less and less. Nerf, nerf, nerf. On the bright side, at least I have the Mexico districts finished (save for 2-3 remaining boss battles). Still, just typical nonsense that continues to alienate the player base through completely unnecessary frustrating game play mechanics/structure. SMH

  3. I believe you put the same 'after' pic as the 'before' pic for District 7. Job one now charges for the consumable, as you show in the chart.

Great assessment. This is only a blip for serial levelers, farming players and those who already completed Mexico. Their stupid change will only hurt new and average players who have no choice in order to finish and get achievements.

    1. Thank you so much, I fixed it :) Hopefully there aren't any more mistakes, the whole post was a pain in the ass and shouldn't have been necessary as Zynga shouldn't have done this!

  4. And it will come as no big surprise what so ever when these cretons release the next family business or urban assault and its loaded with jobs they have ammended

  5. Great dedication to the cause by doing all that work to demonstrate just how miserable Zynga are. All the constant property builds and daft project tasks are driving MORE away from the game, not increasing them. I've even got to the stage where I hardly care anymore. I can see the next family event being the one that tips me over the edge. All these years....

  6. anyone know which is the best cash job ratio that doesn't need consumables now?
