Panic Attack Event/Gimmick

Zynga is just full of new surprises. The Panic Attack is part event and mostly gimmick which combines elements of the Robbing Spree and the Lucky Streak. If you aren’t hung up on mastering it, it will be fun. If you are then plan to be confused and spend a ton of reward points. You get one free Panic Attack Board a day. Each board contains 5 loot items and +2 skill points (on bronze mastery) and 3 bombs. How many rewards you get depends on your luck and ability to avoid the ‘randomly’ placed bombs. If you don’t want to rely on luck you can spend another 25 reward points to get all the items. Each board has 2 numbered items (there are many with duplicate numbered items) on it and you would need to do this 20 times to get the grand mastery prize. I don’t even want to figure out how many reward points that would require. The event lasts for 10 days and the instructions say that free boards will be available for a limited time. I don’t know how many free boards will be available at this time.  More details and the loot items are shown below. UPDATE: A FAQ has been posted on the Player Support site. Go here to view it.

To start click the ‘Go Now’ button on the home page and you will see your board.

Click on any package. If you don’t get a bomb, you can click on another one.

Once you hit a bomb, you will get all the items that you uncovered.

For 25 reward points you can diffuse all the bombs and get all 6 rewards without Zynga chance getting in the way. It appears that each board will contain 2 numbered items, 3 older crate items and some skill points.

 

To see the rewards, click the link from the board. There are 2 mastery subsets in this event. One for hitting bombs and one for avoiding them. There are 5 different sets of numbered items and when you get all 5 of any level you get an additional mastery reward.

The loot items you need to acquire are shown in more detail below.

The mastery reward for getting all the items above (one each level) is the Rufous Kingfisher.

The next pseudo type of mastery item is the Bomber Pilot. The less bombs you hit the greater your reward. Every time you hit a bomb it will get added to your Bombs Hit tally. This one requires some fine print reading as you only get this reward if you ruby master the event at least 1 time. You will see this reward at the time you earn the ruby level item shown above. I’m not sure why Zynga is making these events so complicated but it might be they want players to waste their reward points. In the example below (taken from the FAQ) it took 24 boards to get all the items. Assuming Diffusers weren't purchased, that's 1,200 reward points!
