Cartel Clash 2

The 2nd round of the Cartel Clash is now available. This is an icing event in which you pick a side. There are 2 Cartels called the Russian Alliance (the returning champion)and the Anarchy Brigands. There are lots of rules and rewards to keep track of. If you pick the winner (based on the number of ices players who picked the same got for at least 3 out of the 5 days), stay loyal (you can switch sides for 10 reward points) and get 500 ices per day (traditional fighting or Arena) you will get the maximum number of rewards. After the last one I don’t think too many players are interested in the competitive portion of this event. It was quite clear that things were a little fishy as many suspected Zynga was the third Cartel adding ices to keep things close. Last time we suggested that players pick the first team but Zynga pulled a Slick Willy on us and there isn’t a ‘first team’ this time. The positions of the Russian Alliance and the Anarchy Brigands flip flop upon refreshes. I say just pick one and stick with it. I picked blue only because Edward did before he realized there were moving parts [1]. It really doesn't matter because Zynga will probably interfere regardless of the player choice distribution.  I won’t bother with a detailed walkthrough and if you need more information, go here. If you pick your Cartel from the popup, Zynga has that covered as well. There is no left or right. It’s all random and will change.

Since Zynga took the fun out of this event, I don’t care who wins or loses. I’m just going to worry about me and be happy with whatever rewards I get. To do this complete the Don’s Challenge each day and stay loyal to the side you chose. If you do you will get 3 reward points and a Gold Level Don’s Reward each day. If your team happens to win you will get double the rewards (6 reward points and 2 Gold Level Don’s Rewards). If you get at least 1 ice you will get an Associate Reward each day (2 if your Cartel wins for the day). If your Cartel wins the entire event (at least 3 days out of 5) you will get the Champion Reward.

Eike from Team Spockholm has been tracking the progress so far and things look a lot like they did last time. The first 8 hours are shown below. If this follows the pattern of last time we can expect to see a lot of ups and downs as well as twists between the 2 Cartels. If the Zynga Cartel throws in ices when need be we can probably expect that the race will stay close for the duration of the event.
