Mexican Beat Collection Event

Share:

Yesterday the Mexican Beat Collection was added to the game but it was impossible to get any of the items because the event hadn’t been released [1]. Because of this a whole day was spent fielding questions about it. Now that the event is here players can start collecting items. This event works exactly like the Savanna and Souvenir Shop Collection events except the required jobs are in Mexico instead of South Africa [1].  Players who haven’t unlocked District 1-7 will be unable to vault the collection. All jobs in Districts 1-7 drop a specific collection item and requires about 1-2 energy pools to get it. Once you get all 7 items you can vault the collection to get the rewards. The collection can be vaulted once per day for the next 7 days. A walkthrough is shown below.

If the home page banner, periodic popups and the collection page aren’t enough to make you aware this event is going on, you can also find it on the Mexico Map! Icons of each collection item are shown over the district in which the items drop.

Once a collection item drops in a district you can move on to the next one. It doesn’t matter what order you go in and 1 item from each district will drop only once per day.

Once you get all 7 items, vault the collection to get the rewards. You need to go to the Special Collections page to do this. The rewards are 1 Drum Roll and +8 skill points. If you can do this everyday that the event is available you will gain 7 loot items and +56 skill points.
mb13mb14Pay no attention to the Enhancer Boost. It’s just a gimmick that Zynga hopes you will spend reward points on. Instead of the standard 1-2 energy pools to get a collection item, buying this boost will get you one in about 0.5-1 energy pools. The minimum number you can purchase is 5 so you need to spend at least 15 reward points to get them. You would be much better off purchasing a Energy Tonic for 3 reward points if you need the extra energy. Zynga probably figured we would ignore this boost so they forgot to update the description in the Marketplace and the Boost page. It still says Souvenir Shop Collection. When these were first introduced with the Souvenir Shop they were giftable but Zynga quickly changed their status because players were purchasing them with their minis and sending them to their main accounts [1].

To help you get this done much faster, Team Spockholm has brought back the Savann-o-Nator. It’s been updated for the Mexican Beat collection. To find it, type in any part of Savann-o-Nator. The script will do whatever type of job you select (ie, least energy, best ratio, etc) until a collection item is found and then it will move on to the next district and repeat the process until all 7 items are found. For more details on how to use it, go here.

As you can see from the stat log, I got about 1.5 collection items per energy pool. The more energy you have the more jobs you will need to do in order to get an item.

  1. which jobs do they drop from in dist 4-7? i have sold off everything in those districts and all i get with the savan-o-nator is city item needed. all the others say processing job 12, or 22

    D-1 is Job 1
    D-2 is Job 2
    D-3 is Job 2

    Thanks

  2. I need Pesos, so my strategy is to do the best cash job in each district that does not require a consumable. And sure enough, my selling off useless loot in the City Store to raise cash backfired on me.

  3. I vaulted Day 1 (in the nick of time w/ 5 RP Energy Refill) -- but please clarify: If you don't finish collecting on Day 1, you can continue on Day 2 without starting over, right?

  4. love your estimate of 2 energy pools to loot all 7 items! I wish!!!!
I don't have a lot of energy.... I'm on the ruby tier in most of these districts & can only do one job per level. It took me 7 goes on one job to get the item to drop. I can't see me finishing this every day.

  5. I get an average of one loot item per energy refill -- I'm at 19K energy. YMMV. So far, it's worthwhile for me -- the loot item is +80 defense (x7 by the end of the event), and at the end of the event I'll have gotten +56 Skill Points. Not too shabby. Urban Assault is suffering a little as I spend energy on this first, but there's more time in Urban Assault so it should all work out. Oh, and a shout-out to Spockholm -- Savann-O-Nator makes this job a no-brainer...
