UPDATE: I'm not sure how many members each family shows. In the example below we have 97 members but only 92 are showing. Players may need to collect in at least 1 category in order to show up (just a theory). Please comment with your findings so we can figure this out.
Family management just got a whole lot easier! The 4 leaderboards (5 if you count separate the ices and damages sub-categories) on the Family Activity page have been expanded. Over a year ago we suggested larger leaderboards as 10 spots on these things rendered them useless for families with more than 10 members [1]. Now it’s possible for all family members to see who is actually doing the work and who isn’t. If your family doesn’t have minimum requirements then this update won’t make a difference. For the ones who track progress and require their players to be active, this is a huge time saver. To give these leaderboards a competitive spirit (for those who like that kind of thing), it would be cool if Zynga didn’t cap them at the minimum number needed for gold mastery. This update most likely stemmed from the survey that Zynga put out to the community about a month ago [1]. Had it happened sooner, many of the large families probably wouldn’t have such large gaps among the categories. Although the perks of Family Progression could use some updating, many families just want to get to Level 15 before Mafia Wars shuts down. Many thanks to Sue Carey and Marius Solbakken for sharing this on our fan page earlier today. It may have taken some time to notice because until today the Activity page was useless and rarely visited.
As it is now, it's not of much use in trying to weed out the slackers as it only shows 24 of a families members. It should sow everyone in your clan. Another bust on zynga's part but a step in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteI have to recant my earlier statement as someone else has reported it is showing 51 of their members. maybe it is showing them in order according to their lat active date.
ReplyDeletebig deal who cares
ReplyDeleteMy family has 21 members and 12 were showing. Of these 6 had contributed to FP, the remaining 6 had scores of 0 in all categories. Those 6 were the most recently "active" according to the roster. I have a mini in the family that wasn't showing so logged it on and crafted properties etc to see if he'd be added - result was we now had 13 members showing.
ReplyDeleteIn the backyard of my brain there is simple method to manage the family members!
ReplyDeleteIt is called spockholm "family manager" and i laugh about the so-called zynga update.
But give the audience "bread & games" + upgrades on modules from time to time and they will be happy for the rest of the time B/P-eing;
I have a small family (less than 25) and the leaderboard shows all of them, even the ones that have not done anything

ReplyDeleteand why do people think they have to gold master both categories of the fight category....as far as I know, the family only gets credit for the one mastery...now there's an idea....if I gold master both the arena and get the 150 ices, give the family 600 instead of 300

We have 60+ members, half are showing in the progression lists. Examining the roster, all members on the progression list have a Latest Activity date within the last 7 days. So this tells me that they've not necessarily contributed to Family Progression within the last week, just that they've done *something in MW.
ReplyDelete[EDIT] It appears that since I first posted, about an hour ago, MW has now updated the Last Activity date for those members who "auto-join" family battles. All of their dates are the same as the date of our last battle a few days ago. Of course, any auto-joiners who've played after the date of the battle have a more recent Last Activity date.
