Daniela’s Deal was introduced to Mafia War in July of 2012 [1]. The concept of this feature is simple, spend 260 reward points today and get back 560 through out the 52 weeks it takes to complete it. Many took the bait despite the jokes that Mafia Wars wouldn’t be around in a year. The final collection was bittersweet and players found themselves missing Daniela [1]. We didn’t know if there would be another offering or not. Shortly thereafter In August of 2013, it was offered again [1]. The jokes about Mafia Wars shutting down continued but still many of us did it again. One thing I’ve noticed is that Mafia Wars seems to stick around no matter how bad things look. Pointing out the metrics and player dissatisfaction is more of a ‘just saying’ type of thing than the impending doom many think they have predicted. Of course the game will shutdown someday but it probably won’t be anytime soon. Will it last long enough to complete a 3rd Daniela’s Deal? Time will only tell. One thing Zynga could do to improve this feature is to let players know what week they are on. If you purchased Daniel’s Deal #2 during the week it was initially offered then the final collection will be towards the end of August. If the feature is offered again it could be a telling sign of Zynga's outlook on the longevity of Mafia Wars or they may just want to take the money and run!

I keep a minimum of 500 rp's on hand at all times for things like this.
ReplyDeleteI joined the first 2 and will join the third if she shows up.
There aren't many investments ANYWHERE that you get 100% return on an investment.
...and besides, even if it DOES shut down, i'll still find a way to play. 3:)
I joined the first one and it was worth it, I play daily so it's easily to collect the reward points... good thing I have a 1000rp saved up
ReplyDeleteI agree with Darren (good investment) and have a question for him. How would we play after a shutdown??
ReplyDeleteI have an answer: You won't be playing at all..lol
DeleteI'll throw rawks at all y'all for ices.
Delete...and when i show up for a drive by it'll be REAL Tequila, and nearly naked grrrrls, not just pics.
...or Dementia, ya... prolly Dementia. o.O
This game will be around till people stop spending thousands of dollars per month to play it. Zynga puts little to no effort in maintaining this game so why shut it down? It appears no matter how bad the game is certain players will keep spending because they already have spent so much and have to justify it to themselves.
