The Family Kill-Fest may appear to be a new feature in Mafia Wars but it’s actually the Family Inheritance with a new name and a new rule. There have been 10 seasons of Family Inheritance and the suddenly stopped over half a year ago [1]. The reason is as as obvious as it was when the Killer Instinct replaced the individual Arena Crest Event [1]. Zynga doesn’t want players using Private Arenas to earn their Crests. The ways to earn Crests, the rewards and details on a new home page leaderboard are shown below.
The instruction page is a busy little thing. We will break it up and try to make it more simplistic.
There are 7 different types of Kill Shots and each one pays out a certain number of Crests. I don’t see the reason to convert Kill Shots into Crests it would be easier to just have us earn Kill Shots. The Over-Kill for Shootout and Mob Fury Arenas can only be earned one time in any given Arena. As mentioned above, Private Arenas and Rematches.
The reward item is the Pro Wakeboarder. Families need to earn 1,000, 2,500, 10,0000 and 25,000 Crests to earn a bronze, silver, gold or ruby item.
The reward popup shows up in the Arena only and if you are using scripts you will probably miss it.
As with most loot in Mafia Wars, you only get to keep one of the 4 items.
There are 2 leaderboards, one on the home page and one in the Arena. The home page leaderboard has a scrolling feature which is cool and hopefully we will see something like it with the next Family Ice Event. The home page leaderboard and the Arena leaderboard show the top 10 spots but the Arena leaderboard has 15 spots and the last 5 show your family and 4 others who are close to your score.
Families on the Top 10 Leaderboard get reward points in the same manner as the old Family Inheritance Events.
