More Mafia Wars in FarmVille

Share:

Zynga must be really hoping that some of those 23,635,062 FarmVille players will cross over for the perfect getaway and join the 723,860 Mafia Wars players. A second Mafia Wars promotion for Mexico has appeared in FarmVille and this should be cause for some concern [1]. Is Mexico a last ditch effort to renew interest in Mafia Wars and what will happen if it’s a flop? I’m thinking the only way to get these players to unblock Mafia Wars would be to offer some super cow poop which can be used to harvest a coupon redeemable for the best weed ever. Thanks to Oliver for the screen shot.

  1. Looking at those graphs it's obvious where are the Mafia Wars players are going. They're all jumping ship for Farmville 2! They are leaving the mafia and becoming nice, productive farmers.

  2. The game is stale and getting boring with the same old re-polished turds that get re-rolled with new skin. Nothing new. Time is running out on this game....

  3. Many reasons explain the precipitous drop in mafia wars plays, chief among them is the fact that everyone for some time has known along with Zynga that some of the largest players in the game are extreme cheaters. Zynga's failure to do anything to clean up this product has caused many to leave and many to quit spending.

  7. Zynga has made it impossible for a new infusion of players just starting out, (not mini's, but truly new) There is no way for them to play against players who have been with the game several years, Couple that with the monster players and the few clans who use people as foder for gaining their passive experience this is rapidly turning into a 2-tiered game.

  9. It went the other way for me they offered 3x3 farm equipment for starting mafia wars, then got irritated with the lack of fuel to run these machines, one picture is worth a thousand words! http://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash2/t1.0-9/582409_352520221461516_855556366_n.jpg

  11. Mafia Wars has jumped the shark. It touched 200,000 players once since the first week of December, and is losing 10,000 a month average since Jan 1. at 160,000 players left that is only 16 months away from zero players. The game will be put to sleep before 0 happens though. I bet if it drops below 100,000 they will announce the sunset.

  12. Or maybe it's because the game has just become a bunch of lazy people running scripts and those of us who don't can't collect on anything or join crews etc. Even AFTER they collect, they keep the scripts running. That's the reason I am about to leave the game, it is no longer fun

    1. I remember back in around 2010, my first ice season which I spent hours on clicking my mouse trying to ice people and it felt so fun getting one ice at a time... but sadly nowadays without scripts you can't even enjoy mafia wars because of the amount of required ices and stuff which is way too high to sit there and click your mouse all day.

    2. I have to laugh because I DO run scripts tho I'm far short of full automation and I'm wondering where the right scripts are because I can't get anything useful from the feeds.

And for the player who said above they give it 2 years, I said something similar 2 years ago, been waiting to tap dance on its grave ever since.

  14. Those graphs show the number of people, but lets see how much per person they spend on the game? I have never seen people spend money on a game like I have seen in MW. It could get down to 250k users, but I bet those are the highest paying and profits would be the same as 750k users. MW will be around a long long time.
