Mexico District 2: Matamoros

Share:

Matamoros is the 2nd District of Mexico. It unlocks once you master the bronze level of District 1. There isn’t a property with this district and so far it follows the pattern of District 1. Spend your Pesos before somebody attacks you as they go pretty fast. This is common in new destinations and once more and more players get established in Mexico it will be easier to get currency and should not be a problem.

The job payouts and requirements for each level are shown below. You earn +1 skill points for mastering bronze and silver level jobs, +2 for gold and +3 for ruby level jobs.

The consumables of District 2 are the Closet Keeper and Crate of Street Goods. They can be farmed in jobs 2 and 4 and are required for jobs 3,7, 9 and 10 . Like District 1, the jobs which make these items require currency so you need to have Pesos on hand to farm them.

Here are the requirements and payouts for District. Only the currency requirements and ratios for the ruby level are shown. The number of consumables are the same for all levels and the jobs that produce them are indicated by a check-mark. The total number needed to master the district are in the bottom row.

In addition to energy, consumables and currency, you also need equipment to do jobs. The job equipment items for District 2, their cost and number required are shown below. Item costs are not the same for all players because it depends on the status of the Abelha Helicopter which is the Brazil District 4 mastery item. The ruby level Abelha Helicopter grants a 10% discount on City Store items from any destination . The required number of items is the same for all accounts and only the costs vary. You can sell items used in previous districts if you are low on currency.
d2equipmentThere are 5 loot items which job randomly while doing jobs. If they help your scores today they won’t in the very near future so I wouldn’t concern myself with trying to max on them. The drop rate is very low. drop1 drop3drop5drop2
drop4The collection for District 2 is the Bandolier Collection. Items drop randomly while doing jobs and you get +30 stamina for vaulting it.
d2collectionThe boss of District 2 Armando Almonte. There will be more on how these boss fights work in a future post.
d2boss1 d2boss2The District 2 related achievement is the Frontera Crosser which is earned once you master the ruby level.
d2ach2
dsach1The mastery item for District 2 is the is the Malvado Eye. When you master the next highest level, you lose the old item. The special ability of this item is you will lose 5%, 10%, 15% or 20% fewer Pesos if you lose a fight. You also get 1 Vault Code per level and those are used to upgrade the bank which will also be addressed in a future post.

  1. Small nit to pick... Above the consumables chart you have, "Here are the requirements and payouts for the Tijuana." Obviously, it is a cut and paste oversight.

Otherwise, without your blog, this game would be almost unplayable. The insights, help and advice you provide are awesome and anyone who is still playing MW and not reading your blog is flying blind.

    2. I second that, I cannot stress enough how important is MLL's blog to be able to play this game with a chance to make the events work. Even so,it's sometimes still a challenge as Zinga seems to want to make this game a full time job, and make even more money out of it. I should also point out that Spockholm as made this game playable ;-).

  2. I have been monitoring my deposits from fights and have noticed that on several occasions it says you lost ??? in fight before deposits. However, my health does not go down nor does it show in my combat feeds that someone attacked and won or does it show any new attackers in my attackers list. Anyone else notice this?

    1. I had the same beef - then I discovered in two instances at least it's not lost:
      1. I run BF in 2 concurrent windows, so when auto bank is on it perceives the money deposited from one window as "lost in fights"
      2. Same message appears when I deposit it manually (because the auto-bank limit hasn't yet been reached)
I checked the bank balances after the "lost" money message, and they were correct (every peso deposited).
Other than that, dunno what else might happen - Zynga's ways :)
