On February 21st we told you that the Emerald Benefits for the VIP Membership Program should kick in on Saturday April 5th [1]. It was an educated guess and has been confirmed today by Zynga on their blog [1]. For the cry babies of the game who moan that the VIP Membership Program makes the game unfair and gives the spenders an unfair advantage (duh) you may want to ask yourself what makes it possible for you to play for free? It's funny that I constantly see people ridicule players for spending money on the game but I've never seen those who spend degrade the ones who choose not to. We all play the way we want and if everyone could respect everyone else then this game wouldn't have such an ugly side to it. Yes, those who joined on day 1 have spent a total of $624.25 but they did so in $24.97 increments and the benefits don’t really make or break a character. I don’t regret spending this and I certainly wouldn’t want to know how much money I’ve wasted on Starbucks because I was too lazy to make it at home. If all our incidental or silly purchases were added up over a 2 year time frame the VIP Membership Program would seem cheap. It’s entertainment and for some it’s been worth every penny. As with the previous unlocking of the membership tiers, we should expect that some players who should have Emerald benefits won’t get them right on time. It’s happened with everyone and usually is resolved pretty quickly. We will test them all out and update you once this happens. For a sneak peak at the Harbinger of Retribution, go here.

VIP Emerald Benefits Unlock April 5th

So very well said. VIP is part of my entertainment budget just as beer/wine or movies or whatever might be part of yours. Biggest difference is that those playing free benefit from my entertainment dollars.
ReplyDeletewow do you find out how long youve been vip???
ReplyDeleteomg! you think 600+ its peanuts hahaha and for the game that bullyies cheaters hackers mess up royally u are one stupid person its laughable what u blog so funny !! i been playing this game very little already the game its not fully playable i cant upgrade props on london and the game its not worth all that money !!! hahaha its so funny !!!
ReplyDeleteGo away then
DeleteWhat you said doesn't even make sense. If you spend $2 a day for a beverage or cigarettes or what ever seems like peanuts at the time, in 2 years and 1 month you will have spent $730. Sorry to say it but anyone who reads your comment will probably get a chuckle over the fact that you would even think to call anyone stupid.
DeleteMutual respect is the key.....we choose to use whatever resources that are available to us for this GAME, be it time, 22 hrs a day if one can spare that , or $$, in whatever amount....no running down on other players who choose differently.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to receiving the new rewards :)
We play the way we want and it is my choice to spend my money where I want. If I am criticized for having VIP I say that without the paying members they may not have been able to play either. Instead of criticizing they should be happy because they too benefit from what we spend.
ReplyDeletea onesided game is no fun is people want to pay to play attack their own lvl or higher not bully loswer lvls because they can
DeleteWe each play the game the way we want. The ones criticizing should remember that without the paying members may not have been able to continue enjoying the game. How about let's respect each other and play the game for the entertainment it offers?
ReplyDeletei believe there is loot inequality. just because some can afford to purchase vip rewards when the majority cannot then zynga should equal out everyones amounts to make the game fair. no need to be a bully equal is only when it is equal to all. that is what fair is all about.
ReplyDeleteOf course there is. Loot has been offered in the Marketplace since day 1 of the game. Do you not realize that games are a business and if Zynga made everything fair and equal then why would anyone spend money and why would Zynga spend money to develop the game in the first place?
DeleteI'm guessing that this person also thinks everyone should be forced to drive the same type of car, live in the same type of house, eat the same type of food, etc, because not everyone can afford to buy the more expensive things.
DeleteStill not fair a lvl 10,000 vip attackling a lvl 2000 , paying to play why attack people easy to beat thats not a winner thats a loser
ReplyDeleteThat would depend on what type of attacks you're referring to. Is it just random from the fight list? That's part of the game. Or are they repeated, targeted attacks? If so, is there a clan war or Driveby going on? Or has the level 2k been doing something he shouldn't, and is being encouraged' to change his ways? Once again, all part of the game, and has been as long as I've been playing.
DeleteRight - you should only attack somebody that is exactly equal to you in every way so that every fight is a tie. Please pass out participation trophies for everybody so we can ALL feel special. {where's the sarcasm font?}
