The Mega Shuffle = Mega Rip Off

Earlier today a new feature called the Daily Shuffle was introduced [1]. I finally got around to testing the Mega Shuffle and all I can say is that it makes for a pretty entertaining blog post. The first issue is that Zynga’s wording is very misleading. It states that the Mega Shuffle, which costs 8 reward points, “will give you a chance to pick 1 among the 5 best rewards”. After reading that, I assumed that I would get to pick the one I liked best but that isn’t the case. For details how I got 400 Rand for 8 reward points, keep reading.


Once you use your free Daily Shuffle, the next batch of rewards present themselves to entice you. In order to see what Zynga considers the 5 best items, you need to hover your mouse over the reward point purchase button (Zynga hopes that you will click it by mistake but be careful). If you have the Spockholm Reward Point Protection feature activated, you will need to disable it or the options won't be reduced to 5 and it will be the same as a regular Shuffle (UPDATE: Team Spockholm fixed this issue). I was jonesing for those 16 reward points and figured I would be able to choose it once I spent the 8 reward points. 

The bad news is that once you purchase the Mega Shuffle, the 5 items flip over, shuffle again and you have to choose.

You best better believe that Zynga would not allow for those 16 reward points to be granted. Let's pretend for a minute that Rand is something of value in the game. I could have purchased 500 Rand for 7 reward points instead of getting 400 Rand for 8 reward points in the Marketplace! The best advice we can give is to stay away from the Mega Shuffle and just enjoy the free ones. We do spend our reward points so you don't have to.
