The Job Board Shaft

For quite a few players the Job Board was going smoothly, they were on top and felt a certain confidence that only a select few will ever experience. Today was a slap in the face for those in this category because the Job Board was populated with some new faces. Normally Job and Ice Boards that have the Family Leaderboards pit 50 players in the same family against each other. Players in families with less than 50 members get to battle it out with the entire family. When the Job Board was released, this number was in the 30’s for full families and the smaller families had many fewer because a percentage was taken. Jo Gilliam is the puppet master for a small but active family of 5 and found it odd that only 3 members showed up on the Family Leaderboard. What made it worse was that Zynga didn’t recognize all 5 members so nobody was eligible for the rewards. Today I saw many angry comments from players not appreciating new additions to the leaderboards. I think what happened, based on Jo’s issue, is that instead of using  50 (or 49 for some) members of each family, Zynga was taking a percentage of the total members of each family. To fix the issues caused by this it looks like they reverted back to 50 and the leaderboards grew. For many this dashed all hopes of getting a reward. At least those who join mini families on the last day to snatch the prizes away from their unsuspecting minis will be eligible to do so.
