How To Make Your News Feeds Smaller

Share:

Ever since the Facebook news feed update was released, I’ve seen so many ask how to make them smaller. Players with bad eyes love the new layout and players who don’t like change not so much. We stopped recommending Timeline removing tools a while ago because they constantly change and they often interfere with some of the scripts we use for Mafia Wars. The best advice anyone can give is to get used to changes but some people just can’t and that’s ok. The following tool isn’t as extreme as a Timeline removing tool, it simply makes your news feeds like they were before the BIG update. To use it, go to http://www.oldnewsfeed.com/ and scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the browser icon of your choice. Be careful not to click on any ad download links or you may end up with something on your computer you didn’t want. The video shown below provides more details if you need them, it's actually pretty simple. We found that you need to click on a news feed filter link to see requests, use the one below for Mafia Wars. This tool only changes the size and doesn’t fix the fact that you now only get 5-8 requests per page per refresh.  Many thanks to Robert Morse for testing and suggesting this tool.

  2. No thanks. If you don't trust other links on the page, why would you trust a DOWNLOAD?? Besides, in the video, I didn't see any difference. And I'd certainly be wondering what ELSE may be lurking in the background, in this age of Identity Theft and all!

    1. Every web site that has ads, including mine, will have ones that say Download. These populate most sites that offer something that needs to be downloaded. I didn't say I don't trust the ads but for those who don't know what they are doing will probably end up downloading something they don't want. The program itself was checked out and is ok but as with anything on the internet, you need to know how to do it properly or you may end up with something other than the product you desire. You can't tell a difference in the image because of sizing issues but if you try it you can tell. This would really only be for people who can't stand the new layout.

  3. I'm trying it now, it seems to be OK. I wear glasses and I hate the new FB layout so I hope this keeps working.

  4. I just commented about this and it seemed to be working OK, then I noticed that I was getting posts from people I am not friends with. I added two of them because of several mutual friends then I deactivated it. I guess I am stuck with way too large posts. I like other stuff too and I use a notebook with a 17 inch monitor. Maybe the people with bad eyesight should get their eyes checked and wear glasses like I do, lol.

  6. TBH I don't mind it. I kinda like the larger images. It works well with screen shots and everyone knows how much we post screen shots for MW's
