Yesterday Zynga gave us a heads up on an upcoming event called Face-Off [1]. They didn’t give many details but mentioned a 2 day voting period. That isn’t a lot of time so it’s best to figure out which item is most helpful. We have shown in previous events that when the community comes together, players get the maximum number of items [1]. There is a dichotomy in the playing field of VIP and non-VIP so we need to review the loot that is available to all players to figure out what the popular vote will most likely be. An analysis of the current available loot is shown below and the good news is the best choice (as far as equipment score total increase) is the Tibetan Gazelle. For those preferring attack to defense then the Thinhorn Sheep will be best. Having an idea of how the majority of players are going to vote will make it easier to decide which item to choose. The best attack and defense animals available to all players come from the 6th generation of Arena Loot and the 24th generation of Fight Loot. There are no animals in the Secret Districts. At first glance, one would be inclined to choose the attack animal since the Arena loot item has a higher score of +1. BUT..........

...many players will max on the Mule Deer from the Daily Fix reward which is also an attack animal. This should swing favor over to the defense animal.

For VIP players, the decision is the same. The best attack animal is +5 higher than the best defense animal.

Best VIP Attack/Defense Animals

For those contemplating which is better, attack or defense, it depends on the type of player you are. For those who fight in the Arena, your defense scores are much more important than your attack scores. In regular fighting, the question of attack over defense becomes do I want to beat those I attack or those who attack me? Many prefer to keep balanced accounts. For these reasons, I believe the popular vote will go to the Tibetan Gazelle regardless of where Zynga places it. Unless the poll tells me otherwise, I will promote this animal for the event. In the big picture, I really don’t care and in a few weeks the loot will all be updated again. For OCD purposes, I really hope they invert the images for one of these animals. Look how much better things look when they are actually facing each other. With a name like Face-Off, how could they them stand in the same position? This will bug me for the entire event.
