Player Support Email & Live Chat Icon Change

Share:

In September of last year, Zynga updated the Customer Support site and renamed it Player Support [1]. Everything pretty much worked the same with the exception that players needed to create an account to gain access to email and live chat. It was quite clear how to contact an agent there were “Chat Live” and “Email Us” links in the right column of the page. About a month later, Zynga came up with the concept of Premium Support and only players who spend money  were eligible for the Live Chat option [1]. In March, the eligibility requirements were changed and players who don’t spend money were denied access to both Email and Live Chat [1]. For reasons unknown, the icons which appear for eligible players were changed.

Clicking on the red “Get Help” link brings one to a new page that contains the same icons which were readily available on the old page and an extra page load is required.

Players not meeting the criteria don’t have the red “Get Help” icon on the main Mafia Wars Player Support page.

Thanks to Joe Mintz for posting about the update.

  1. Well, we all pretty much know it's about money with Z. Even if you don't play with a cc it was pretty useless to contact them for anything before they shut us down--they've been virtually useless and totally unhelpful in the past for me. :( It's too bad, or I might have felt more free to spend a bit here and there on the game.

    1. You don't need to be a VIP player, you just have to spend a certain amount in a 30 or 60 day time frame. And the listed criteria is not accurate. Many players who don't meet it still get the options. My mini that has hardly played and never spent a dime has the email option. I think eventually it will reflect what their chart says but for now many still get the options.

  3. Removal of the email support for non paying players is going to cause a lot of players to leave. It really is sad what Zynga has done to drive players away. I could understand them limiting Live Chat to just those who paid to play, but to remove mail support is simply bs. Goes to show once again how much Zynga does not care about the customer base.

As for this new system... i pay to play, VIP and RP's... yet i am unable to get this new system to advance beyond the red ? mark nor was i able to access the email for months now and the player support page is blank for me. Wonderful freaking job!

  4. Yep gutting ready to leave the game myself along with a lt of other player who play for free.I don't have the money to waste on mafia wars and since they have made it nearly impossible to do that with no support to help with issues why bother.I predict this will do in most of the remaining players.

  6. it was taken from the players that become a pain in the ass, its why my mini still has it, never spent a dime, and never complained to zynga, i read a piece somewhere and i dont remember where, but in a nutshell it said if you are a pain in the ass your email support will be taken away....i read this from zynga, it came straight from the horses mouth
