Today many players received an email announcing a 50% off sale for reward points. This news is rather expected. Since I’ve been writing this blog, there have been a total of 37 Marketplace Promotions and everyone like clockwork has this sale [1]. What makes this email so “special” is that players are reporting that they were addressed by the wrong name (they call me Robby) and the time frame of the sale is from April 4th to April 26th 2014. Unless I took a nap for a year, it's 2013. I think they mean April 24th 2013 as the sale is now active. Maybe if the Mafia Wars Team would do more to ensure that the game won’t be shutting down, more players will purchase reward points. Sending an email out like this only reiterates the problems in the game to their players. Thanks to all who posted their email on our fan page. I thought it may have just been me but it appears everyone got a bugged email as well.

FACEPALM!! x1000
ReplyDeleteI feel slighted I didn't even get an email. Wonder what they would have called me.
ReplyDeleteMy email was addressed to John D. I thought it meant John Doe!
ReplyDeleteOne thing that gets me is when I write to Zynga over a game issue, 9 times out of 10 the person writing back from Zynga Support doesn't appear to be able to write or understand English very well. It is not the best scenario when trying to detail game issues. Maybe that is why they ask for a video screenshot most of the time now.
Well, if they write their scripts and programs as accurate as these emails why wonder that this game never works properly?
ReplyDeleteI got a good laugh out of it, that's all
hahaha, they called me Jeanne.
ReplyDeleteWith access to this information, they could how to block email track purchases and communicate more efficiently with their customer using the information they extracted from their payment gateway.
