How Arena Alerts Work

We have been looking at the Arena inbox on top of the Game Header for 5 days now [1]. Very few have actually seen any alerts and there is a reason. While adding the functionality to challenge any player to Spartacus , Eike learned a few things about the Arena inbox that you may find useful. The first is that the invitation will only appear in 1 window or tab of Mafia Wars. If you are trying to catch a challenge, than it’s important to only have one window or tab running. Otherwise you will waste valuable time trying to find it. Once sent, you only have 60 seconds to accept or the alert will disappear. There isn’t a lot of breathing room.

If you actually see an alert, you should also see an in game notification as well. In order to accept a challenge you need to be online and you need to have enough stamina to participate. If not, there is no time to level to get more. You could use a bonus like a Power Pack but if you are full on energy, it would be a waste.

The entire system is act of frustration.  Trying to do anything in less than 60 seconds in a game which takes about that much time to load. Most of the time those who send 1-On-1 challenges or private requests do a lot of work to get this in the end.
