Fine Print Added To Starter Packs

Share:

Whenever Starter Packs are offered, players with Booster Pack offers get upset. As stated many time on this blog, they contain identical items but the Starter Packs are much cheaper. Players who spend money are annoyed that other players are offered such a good deal and they aren't. Zynga must have finally realized that this happens every time Starter/Booster Packs are updated and they added some fine print to the Starter Packs. Under the offer, it now says “*The Starter Pack is available as a one-time purchase only”. Starter/Booster Packs were introduced to the game over a year ago [1]. If you purchase a Starter Pack, you can't buy another one. Most players were only offered this once in the lifetime of the Starter/Booster Pack existence and some never at all (like me).  Players can choose from 3 different Starter/Booster Packs (shown below) and you don't need to select the one shown on the popup.

  1. I got starter packs last year and this year on the same accounts. Perhaps there are is a time factor (one a year?), or someone accidentally reset the "Starter" flag.

  2. "If you purchased a Starter Pack in the past, you will never be offered one again."

Says who? Maybe that's new now, but, every few months I get a Starter Pack...! Well, not the $1 or $2 variety, but a $6 or $8 pack...

  3. isn't the starter pack a one time purchase per player and can not be bought again. The booster is a repeat buy, so why complain everyone gets 1 chance and 1 chance only to buy the starter as is stated on the add

  5. Thanks for the information. Edited the post to reflect this. Until now I've never known anyone who purchased one to be offered it again. Maybe those who don't spend more money are getting the offers a second time.

  6. I have purchased it several times on the same account. on some accounts it repeats more often and other accounts less often.
most people will get it about every 3 months *IF* they do not spend money on the game. even if you make a $1 purchase it will reset and you will have to wait another 3 months.
I have heard of some people never being offered the starter pack like you, but I think most of those people are buying and don't realize that they don't get the offer if they are spending money.
if some accounts really don't get the offer the same way other accounts do, then of course that is not fair, but "unfairness" is the middle name of MW. they couldn't care less if all players are given the same opportunities, they only care about the money, and their lack caring for the the players is what has pushed the numbers of active players to it's current dismal level.

  8. Jen, the "one-time purchase only" has been on mine for some time now, (at least 2 months).
The reason I know is that I wait until they are at 98% off before I buy them, and check the price of these every few day.
