The following scenario happens after every single Ice and Job Board. Players do their best to be #1 on their Family Leaderboard. Many gain thousands more ices than the place below them to ensure they stay on top. The event ends and these players get no popup and worse, no reward. Affected players usually contact Customer Support right away and are told to wait as the results are still being calculated. When these players make their second inquiry, they are often told that the records Zynga has shows they weren’t in first place. Zynga needs to fix this recurring issue as it makes players who worked hard and spent reward points to be #1 very angry. I’ve gotten countless messages about this happening and in many of these players stated they were going to cancel their VIP Membership. It is affecting Zyngas bottom line so you would think something would have been done by now. To easily avoid placement discrepancies, Zynga should leave the results in game past the expiration point. It makes no sense that they would be pulled at the last second. Those in fierce competitions don’t even have a way to tell who won.
For those who do rank #1, it would be nice to get the popup. Many never get it and have no way to brag about it to their mafia. This is spam so once again, you would think Zynga would ensure players can spread it around.
This issue was more widespread during Ice Board #5 than it was in previous Ice and Job Boards. The rewards seemed to be granted in 2 or 3 waves and many players ended up with more than one item. Players who were not #1 on their Family Ice Boards also reported getting the item. It seems the bug may be tied into however Zynga tracks these events. Perhaps the ones in 1st place didn’t get their item because Zynga shows that a player below them in rank was in 1st. Whatever the reason, something should be done to compensate the players who legitimately earned their reward. The current set up offers no way to prove it and that is a problem.
Precisely - didn't bother to contact them as there is no way to prove it - however, won't be spending time on any future ice contests. Let someone else put in th time and be frustrated with the whole process.
ReplyDeleteHats off for your honesty!
DeleteI got 2 items so I contacted CS immediately and told them to remove one.
ReplyDeleteLOL, maybe I should do the same. We should also ask them to take some of our reward points for their troubles.
DeleteThe above reply was for you.
DeleteI was at first place and I've got mine... but then was second pop-up and second hexshot.
DeleteNow checked again and I see 3 hexshots in my inventory?!
So they trying to fix it again and again and again heh
I just checked and was credited with just one of the hexshots
ReplyDeleteHappened to me. The person in third place got the reward. Contacted Zynga and they said the person who was in first place got it. I didn't take a screenshot so can't prove it, but this is another giant screw up that I have been involved in. Was also one of those who lost 2 days worth of playing and leveling back on Nov 1 when they had the server transfer issue. I got no compensation for that either. Really don't know why I am still playing.....
ReplyDeleteI got No Hexshot & No Pop-Up - My family GF said : "family manager tells me you (Clive) did ~20k , Eric 1 ~13k , Eric 2 ~9 k and Birger ~ 7k" So he confirmed that I was placed first by a very large margin! ~ Clive
ReplyDeleteI was #1 and did not receive the "Hexshot" until I sent two emails and chatted with a Customer Service Rep. I was NOT going to let them get away with it!
ReplyDeleteYour idea of a "Pop-up" is SUPER!!!!
Thanks for EVERYTHING that you all do!!
Just had this problem myself. Easily finished first and didn't get a popup nor the Hexshot (I'm GF of HEX and really wanted this one). Contacted support and was told I finished in 4th and they couldn't tell me who finished above me. I got quite pissy asking who was ahead of me and why I couldn't know what the rankings are since we see them the ENTIRE time we are doing it. Insisted upon a supervisor until I finally got one and after 20 minutes of complaining and saying I wasn't going to get off the chat until I saw the results, I was told they "recalculated" it and I was indeed first and was given the Hexshot. It was a very strange conversation and I think he just wanted to get rid of me but this is a horrible practice of showing the rankings for two weeks, inspiring competition and perhaps camaraderie within a group and all of a sudden becoming mum about who won seconds after you see the rankings. They kept quoting privacy issue problems. If so, why do we get to see where everyone ranks the entire time but it becomes a privacy issue seconds later....
ReplyDeleteThreatened to file a (another) Class Action lawsuit against Zynga and had to send them screen shots proving that I was #1 with 2200 ices above the #2 person after they claimed I came in 3rd via Chat. Gave them 24 hours to send my loot; thy sent it within 6 hours. Damn shame that I had to threaten a lawsuit to get what's rightfully mine.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the point of these contests if they immediately take the leaderboard down? They should leave it up for a few days at least. Would be nice to see where you stand, even if you're not first.
ReplyDeleteI only got my loot item after I complained to support 3 times and demanded it. They tried to tell me I finished in 8th which is ridiculous since it was not even close. If they truly have a bug which calculates wrong they should have fixed it by now. But shouldn't they be able to look at the total ices of the people involved and just easily calculate it? Why be so difficult about it?
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for my Hexshot and a reponse from customer service! Really sucks..then you read others got duplicates and it it's like...."What the f&*k is up with the programmers at Zynga?
ReplyDeleteI see part of the problem with "Who was first place in your Family" There are only 50 players on each "List" So any family with over 50 players potentially have many "First placers" - Solution - Make the list the same size as the Max Family size! "Family" does not equate to "List" ~ Clive.
