Zynga never does much to promote Mafia Wars. It’s conspicuously missing from their own platform (zynga.com) and it’s really hard to find on the Player Support site. Most of the Zynga notoriety revolves around FarmVille. In a surprise money making headline, Zynga shares actually increased by 7% in premarket trading. I don’t really know what all that finance stuff means but it’s probably a good thing. What is more amazing is the article, posted by CNN Money, which explains the finer details features an image of Mafia Wars. Go here to see for yourself. It may be an old image but if Zynga won’t promote their own game, it’s nice to see that a big name news organization like CNN will. FarmVille still takes center stage in the subtitle but we will take what we can get. Thanks to John Sweeney Jr. for the link.

I say, "Call for an immediate audit!"
ReplyDeleteI don't buy that they could turn a profit . . . {scratching head}
Profits are a result of a sound business plan and continued growth coupled with increased customer satisfaction.
So, I guess my true reaction is, "Really? REALLY?
Zynga didn't make a profit but the revenue was better than expected.
DeleteWhy would Zynga want to promote a game that script users have ruined,anyone not using scripts these days are nothing, but Mafia Wars food for the cheating sacks of sheet running 100 scripts & buying their games....Pathetic......No wonder 20 million players Quit.
ReplyDeletezynga is making money off of mw. the vip alone they make hand over fist and that is better than 20 million ppl that didnt pay a dime.
DeleteCould this have something to do with something I thing I heard about Zynga offically opening their own platform (not the one the have up now)?
ReplyDeleteit's not hard to turn a profit when analysts lower expectations to the point they have. even zynga with their bungler of a ceo can swing it. combine the mass layoffs and office closures, the abandoning of a big chunk of their games and the overly aggressive efforts to wring every possible cent out of it's remaining few customers, and even zynga can turn a profit.
ReplyDeletelol, just a half-assed pic of Mafia Wars, and it doens't even say Mafia Wars on it, it says "Mafia W..."
ReplyDeleteand the article makes no mention of the game at all.
I certainly wouldn't call it a promotion or a plug, not by a long shot.
