Mafia Wars: Informant Podcast Episode 223

The Fallen

Once again long time players are leaving the game. We say goodbye to The Swede and Alan Potter to name a couple. Like all before, you will be missed.

We struggle to grasp what is the Zynga motivation. If it is truly greed. There would have been better ways to get more money from a lot of people. Who knows.

Some housekeeping notes. We are going to start recording on Thursday and posting shows Saturday at noon. This will allow a little more time for editing and will alleviate some upcoming scheduling conflicts.

  1. Zynga, like many gaming companies, is just poorly managed. They know little about customer service or customer retention. They seem to do all they can to keep new players from sticking around (think shark tank, as soon as you go over level 600 you are pretty much constantly dead until you get to level 2,000 or so, and can finally stand to the levels that are hitting you. Most people just quit because it's not fun). They don't offer anything to established players other than feeble attempts to take more and more money. VIP is too expensive. They would be better off making $9.95 whereas they would likely get a much higher conversion rate. My experiences with customer support, when I can get it, are inconsistent at best. Zynga is burning the candle of players at both ends, and soon their won't be enough left to keep the game viable.

  3. The endless builds I do feel have taken away so much enjoyment in the game. Yes, we want to build and help others, but the feed is crap, the page loads are so annoying, if you are not a scripter or a add on er you can't keep up. I'm very near the point of quitting myself.

It is really no fun now. Ice used to be the ultimate but with so much rampant backdoor fighting it makem tus true players who do want to play as the game was set out, lost in the dust.

That is why I'll quit more than anything else. Zynga said they'd crack down on the bots, they never did. Impossible to find a war, feed limits, power cards, etc. Who wants to try to play the right way. Scripting is the biggest cause of the downfall of the game, not Zynga, not how it's run.

The exploits that some people use, little people never find them out. They wonder why they can't advance in the game. Cheaters have ruined it.

  4. i have to disagree " Scripting is the biggest cause of the downfall of the game, not Zynga" scripts have been out since the start of mafia wars they are not new !!! and if the scripts did not exist then i think this game would of been gone well over a year ago !! Zynga is 100% to blame for the downfall of mafia wars with all the spam,Countdown Timers, the begging for stuff, stopping trading, and not listing to its player base ect ect (this list would be endless) the game is just not fun any more its like a full time job now!!
