We are a little over the half way mark for the current season of the Ice Board. As previously mentioned, this is the first Ice Board of its type because of the Arena. It’s a little crazy to look at the current standings as the number of ices are over double of the previous Ice Boards moments before expiration.

I can’t do an Arena without having at least one of these guys present. It’s very annoying because all 3 of them kick my ass. I had to laugh when of them were in my Arena! In addition to having a butt load of stamina, these guys are strong. These types of accounts are perfect for this type of event. Gone are the days of who has the most minis.
I’m doing my best to try to come in first on my Family Ice Board but I don’t think I’ll make it. For those who don’t know, fake ices are rewarded at a rate of 1 per 500 stamina used regardless of placement. This Ice Board is all about who can use the most stamina and nobody can do this without the use of scripts or from traditional fighting! Even if you can get more than 1 ice per 500 stamina, Arena fighting is much faster and by default will yield many more ices.
It’s very tempting, but this would be a rude thing to do over a piece of loot. Unfortunately there are a lot of jerks who play Mafia Wars and I wouldn't put this type of action past some players. Michael and Thomas shouldn’t worry as I couldn't sleep at night if I did such a thing.
Many players view these Arena fake ices as a joke and feel that Zynga devalued the ice statistic (which they totally did). The following comment was on a previous post and shows this line of thinking to the extreme.

ReplyDelete:) My family is a smaller family in terms of folk who actively play the game. We tend to chat more than actively engage with Mafia Wars. For us, we sit on the Family progress for months and months and months at a time as there is usually less than 10 members getting 150 ices a day. More like 5 or 6 doing so. Until the Arena that is. We have made progress finally. Finally something that doesn't take 3 or 4 or more hours of constant playing to attain. While ok, the ices do devalue fighters, they have given us a chance to actually see progress in a feature that devalues us more casual players.
ReplyDeleteVery well said and agreed. Fake ices are awesome in a lot of way. Many just wish they were separated from the Arena ices. They do give stats for Arena ices but they group them in with real ices. Personally I don't really care that much about my ice stats but the big fighters do. I don't think anyone would want fake ices to go away, they just want them to be more separated. It would also be cool to add them to robbing.

The old regime that was constantly winning these events are people from ASS and other well known script or die clans that have kami accounts running 24/7 racking up tons of "faker ices" to achieve the top spot. I do not understand why this is never spoken about.
