The Family Inheritance Event has finally ended. The results for the top 15 families at 45 seconds before the timer expired are shown below. Congratulations to all the winners.
Zynga claims the top 10 families will get reward points but that hasn’t happened yet. I guess they need time to calculate the official results.
UPDATE: The reward points were handed about about an hour after the event expired.
The data above should speak volumes to Zynga. The 2 options they have are to reduce the number of Crests needed to master this type of event or make improvements on the Arena so players are more interested. With most families having difficulties recruiting members, 6,500 was too high of a goal.
Families that wanted to compete for the reward points had no choice but to use scripts. Accounts that can serial level performed the best because they were able to participate in more Arenas. I took a stats history snap shot of my mini 3 days into the event and it’s amazing the number of fake ices it received. Before this event, the account had about 30K ices. Now it has about the same number as my main account that has played every day for over 3 years!
Zynga hopes to keep players in the Arena by offering discounts on Power Ups but that’s not going to be enough. The experience pay out ratio based on placement is enough to keep most players out of the Arena.
The only positives about the Arena at this time is the ability to burn a large amount of stamina quickly and the carry over experience of stamina that would have been wasted. Other than that, the Arena doesn’t offer much of value. The only way to get an experience ratio of 2.3 is to come in 1st place in a 6 man Arena and that doesn’t happen very often. Most players know they will get a better payout from fighting, robbing or doing stamina job in Las Vegas. Many have determined the achievements are unobtainable and without spending a lot of money, I agree. I was obsessed and finally got them but that makes me care even less about the Arena and respect. In the 10 days of this event, I lost over 400 Respect. As far as I’m concerned, the Arena is money trap like most things in Mafia Wars.
My family only got about 600 crests and we have 65 members. That's how much our family hates the Arena. 100 of them came from me.

DeleteIf it wasn't for finding a way to accumulate large numbers of crests for minimal stamina burned, our family wouldn't have made it either - as you allude to, it's another money pit - And unlike Mista Mafiya, I have no desire to chase the ludicrous achievements in The Arena - the second we hit the 6500, it was back to the FL for me

ReplyDeleteThe arena is a waste of stam, all we worked so hard for the last 3 years is NOTHING worth anymore. I mean as I started to play MW in 2009 we had to 'pay' 2 skill points for ONE Stamina. It was like gold, it was rare, it was something. To fight someone had a meaning, it was so different. over the years I added of course a lot of stamina and the decision Zynga made with these 25/50/75 Power Attacks was a good one. But all this is nothing compared to the arena now! My 40k++ Stams are gone in 90 seconds when I join a 500 Arena! Just blown in the wind! Once I needed 8 hours to burn my 4000 Stamina on the fightlist, now i have 10 times more and it is worth NOTHING!
As a member of the nWo family I like to say that we already are rewarded with 100Rps - I still feel .. frustrated, excited, tired and underpaid ... lol ...anyway, I'm glad that it's over, too much pressure, too much efford for 15mins of fame .. lol
I hate that I have to spend rpts to get arena stamina in order to play there!
