The Arena Power Ups and Loot Items

The power ups and loot items needed for the Arena have been added to the inventory. It’s expected the the Arena is going to be on a slow roll out and players should start seeing it tonight. Power Ups can be purchased with reward points but some of them can be crafted using Power Cards which will drop from jobs and fights. I don’t know why the images provided on the Mafia Wars Event Page for the Pain Killer and Drained Power Ups were red but what’s in game are blue [1], [2]. Power Ups

The Reflector was one of the clues posted by the Mafia Wars Event Page and it shows up on their FAQ but has not been added to the inventory. The server image is there.

The loot rewards aren’t really rewarding if you are maxed on VIP loot. Only 1 out of 10 items will help. Once the December VIP loot is released, nothing will be helpful. You would think Zynga would want to provide incentive to VIP players to utilize the Arena. Maybe they figure the Mafia and Global Ego Boards will replace the desire for good loot. Hopefully the stamina/experience ratios are there or I can see many ignoring the feature. We gave you a preview of some of these items but at the time didn’t know what they were for [1].

There is also a item with different levels of mastery. I didn’t see anything in the FAQ which indicated any type of mastery but I wouldn’t doubt that would be a part of the Arena. This guy looks like he belongs in an Arena so I’m going to guess it’s some how tied to the feature.
