It’s hard to believe that it’s been one year since the Assassin: The Raven was introduced to the game [1]. At the time, nobody knew The Raven would be the cause of so many problems. He had been pulled and nerfed so many times that what should have been a fun feature turned into a nightmare. Zynga announced on August 25th of last year that The Raven was temporarily “tuned off” and we haven’t seen him since [1].
“Yes, we are trying to do something fun for the next one. I Requiescat that you stay tuned”While the term Requiescat in Pace means Rest In Peace in Latin, it means a lot more than that in Mafia Wars. It’s the name for the 2 achievements dealing with the Raven!
As I was searching through the many posts I’ve made about The Raven since it’s introduction, I thought it would be fun to make a timeline of his shenanigans and what the players have had to put up with all this time. If it weren’t for the “Requiescat” achievements, nobody would even care!

- June 15 2011-Many many problems, spoof FAQ [1]
- June 15, 2011-Real FAQ-Zynga says he is a challenge [1]
- June 16, 2011-Ammo Nerf [1]
- June 16, 2011- Crappy ammo drop rates determined [1]
- June 21, 2011-The Raven pulled for 2 weeks [1]
- June 21, 2011-Zynga admits problems [1]
- July 3, 2011-The Raven reappears for one player [1]
- July 11, 2011- The Raven still not back after 3 weeks [1]
- July 13, 2011-The Raven returns with more nerfs and 3 achievements [1]
- July 14, 2011-The Walk through [1]
- July 14, 2011-Unhappy players start bitching on Get Satisfaction [1]
- July 16, 2011-Request to remove the third achievement made on Get Satisfaction [1]
- July 18, 2011- It’s determined that an average of 30 reward points is needed to beat the raven each time he appears [1]
- July 25, 2011- Requiescat in Pace Centesimus Achievement pulled, ammo rates increase [1]
- July 27, 2011-Drop rates increased but appear to be capped [1]
- August 22, 2011-Epic Family Boss Fight feature introduced [1]
- August 25, 2011-Raven is MIA [1]
- August 25, 2011-Zynga announces that The Raven was turned off to make room for the Family Boss fight but would return at an undetermined time [1]
- October 6, 2011-Second family boss is introduced, no Raven [1]
- January 9, 2012- The Raven appears in the Assassin’s Academy Requiescat in Pace Decimus achievement still unattainable [1]
- Jan 27, 2012- A player account appears with the third achievement, most likely compliments of Customer Support [1]
- June 2012-Lilly O’Valley pulled from the game and no new Family Boss was added
Have already completed the both achievements ages ago when he was in the game :p

if it is an achievement it would be nice to see him return so everyone has a chance to obtain it.
ReplyDeleteFunny this is talked about now..Last week, I ask the question while on Live Chat if the Assassin was ever coming back, their reply was " We have no information at this time ". which made me believe that he would sometime in the near future...And TYVM for keeping us updated on things like this...
