Fight Issues: It Ain’t Workin’, Boss!

Bill Johnson posted the following image in one of my groups and it made me laugh. Zynga keeps messing with fighting and every time they do, things seem to get worse. If Zynga really wants to fix the server problems and populate fightlists with viable targets, there is a simple solution. It’s called robbing! If robbing were incorporated into Family Progression, there wouldn’t be so many of us fighting to get 150 ices a day, there would be more live targets on the fightlist and most importantly there would be less server calls slowing down the Fight Module. It’s not rocket science!

  1. I complained about the fighting issues to Zynga. They gave me 20 RP and said they were looking at the issues. Ok.

  2. Please, no. Adding robbing isn't going to stop people hiding out in the hospital. There is already enough junk in the family progressions as it is, and I find robbing to be about as much fun as doing jobs, only significantly slower.

    1. With robbing the lots scores matter more and secondly there's no stolen ices and or already iced crap. I'd ne happy if the put robbing as part of progression.

  4. Most of the players who I know that fight, do so because they enjoy it, and actually dislike robbing.

    We would reluctantly rob (in addition to fighting), if it were necessary to earn XP for the Family. But would we stop (or reduce) our fighting activity, even if the '150' requirement were dropped?

    I doubt it...

    1. Some ppl like myself wake up early just to get the 150 ices before work because the rest of family progression takes 30 minutes. It does take long and work and wives and children are the priority so I'd gladly with thus drop the ices to 75 or rob 100 boards. Just make it a choice between robbing and fighting. You get a bit more xp for robbing if you use the thousands of rob squads.

  5. Robbing might be a good addition to the family progress, but not for non tagged player. I believe more still prefer the fighting being revert to how it was. Nothing more pleasurable than icing players especially when u're at war, compared to robbing.

    1. Not all ppl are at war every day, some ppl do work and have families, I'd welcome a choice between robs and fighting. Wars with clans and mocks just increase your ice count. My point is that I don't always have 3 hours to get these ices and participate in mocks and drive bys.

  6. I complained to Zynga as well, just got two responses that they were looking into it, reviewing my account...No RP's, nada... (yet anyways)
    Hope they will resolve it soon...

  7. Zynga needs to revamp the SHARK TANK. As newer players join this game, they are already behind the 8-Ball in terms of crafting from properties. Meaning they will craft for less bonus skill points unless they spend a small fortune to upgrade the Limited Time Properties. The newer players may need a bit more time before you hit them with Shark Tank at level 451.

    Suggestion:
    Newbies Level 0001-0600
    Skilled Level 0601-2000
    Advance Level 2001- up

    1. I don't know how many times it can be said - LEVEL IS IRRELEVANT to winning or losing in fighting. If there's a need to partition the fight list, it should be by SKILL.

      Newbies - less than 5K combined A/D
      Skilled - 10K to 20K combined A/D
      Advanced - over 20K combined A/D

  9. I could definitely see how robbing to gain the 150 ices for family would help. I for one, am tired of trying to ice basketball accounts with 12000 real health especially when you have to get them twice when they re-heal and try to do it before they can re-heal again. Where's the fairness in that? It doesn't help to have built up and solid account over more than 3 years when this happens.

  10. please explain how you feel robbing would produce more live bodies on the fight list? you can rob while below 20 health. why would someone heal to rob? this idea has has reared its head more than 1x on your blog but it is based on fantasy. people who rob do so below 20. having progression rewards for robbing just means that many more people hide below 20 and gain the rewards. in this case your solution is actually a game killer.

  11. I like fighting and robbing. NY robbing consistently gives 3/1 exp/stamina. (Level 10 thief) I do wish they would fix robbing so I could see who I was robbing. Occasionally I end up robbing someone in my own family which isn't a big deal but it's still a "bummer" when it happens.

    I disagree!
    You don't heal to rob but must be alive to collect ice! In the real world more fighters is more live targets. If you had to be alive just to play Mafia Wars then we would have some targets!

  14. every one on my fighters list, rivals list is iced. ices get 'stolen' and its pissing me off. i like robbing. it gets you cool stuff and in vegas, it gets my tournament bets.
    fighting sucks ass in this format. robbing should be added to family progression. this is FRUSTRATING.

Robbing for family progresion means just strong accounts will be alive, weak accounts will prefere robbing.if i can choose between robbing and fighting ..i'll choose fighten becouse robbing takes more time.in brazil or london or chicago (i use to fight in london) ..i finish my 150 ices in 1-1,5h... But..i have another account at lev 350 and i can't find live targets in fl.. (my main is >7k lev
