When we first started playing Mafia Wars, many of us didn't realize that we would someday be playing a game similar to CityVille. We’ve been asked many times on the Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page if there were any reference charts to keep track of the plethora of crafting properties which are now available. There are a total of 19 properties in which you can craft or purchase items that provide your character with additional skill points. If Zynga wanted the player base to embrace their properties, they wouldn’t limit how many we can utilize. There are current exploits which allow players to craft from more than 5 and removing the limitations would make the game fair for all players.
You can open up any drop down menu to see what is available for crafting or purchasing.
I haven’t seen charts that list all the properties and the items which you can gain skill points. I’ve always used the Property Manager as my reference but players keep asking for it. In response to this common question, Mark Allan (one of our admins and a avid Wiki updater) made some awesome charts and created a Mafia Wars Wiki Page called Skill Point Crafting Properties. Nothing screams excess like the charts below and hopefully someone at Zynga will look at this Wiki Page and realize that. The properties are listed in the order they were introduced to the game and only items that provide skill points to your character are listed. If you click the loot item name links, you will be directed to the items Mafia Wars Wiki Page.

These charts make the property building decision look much more difficult than it is. A number of players have created well laid out spreadsheets with the property-item combinations in rows, the skill categories in columns and the associated points in the intersecting cells and eliminated the obviously inferior choices.
ReplyDeleteFor the most part MW is a simplistic game. The ability to manage and choose which properties to build provides a strategic component and is most welcomed.
Yes, there are a number of strategic crafting methodologies being used by players, but all them that I am aware of do require the use or reward points to accelerate the crafting process. I'm not so sure this isn't a Zynga design element as opposed to an exploit.
Mafia Wars is a game of player choices. Including spreadsheets that list what someone else feels are the best items wasn't what most players asking were looking for. That's a whole different topic. This post was just to show what's available and in a sense lay out how ridiculous property building has become due to the excessive amounts of them. Players need to choose what they want to craft based on how they play the game. There is a exploit and it has nothing to do with a design element. Ask around and you will figure it out.
DeleteHi, for once i disagree with some of your comments and I actually appreciate that the number of active properties is limited : many players hate the begging. but as the same time, we have the possibility of only building the properties we are interested in. for example, on one account i'm only looking for defense. so i just build the properties that will give +5 def.so i don't spend my time time in begging. at least no more than just 2 weeks every few months. more properties from which to craft would mean more begging. and MW players are really not looking forward to that
ReplyDeleteI like the listing so you can tell what to build - but i do not understand why it does sum up - I have made this doc on google that sums up the items and also their costs to build - and furthermore I have made it so that I can see which properties I should build from if I am working on attack, defense, stamina, health or energy - I know that some people just wants to make as many skill points as possible - Then they have to do their own math - and I havent taken London into consideration - but feel free to use it.

almost the same as Lasse's SS, here's my SS that help me focus on crafting : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiIE00QqtR1mdGZPTDVudFk4Q2Npbl8xVnF1N2ttVGc
ReplyDeleteim confused i got all the properties and the night club its not on ny , i got it yes but in london and dont give me skill ? so its that a vip program the one let you build skill on the night club ?
ReplyDeleteLOL, that is photoshopping by me. The Nightclub (in London) gives all players skill points, they just don't tell you about it in the game. Purchase something and look at your stats before and after.
DeleteSorry LootLady but you all have got this ALL wrong, in my over 3 yrs of playing this game i have NEVER seen ANY glitch or exploit in this game that costs RPs, tell me if i am wrong but i also believe this was in the design as well, as Zynga CANNOT do anything about people spending their own $ or RPs to get ahead in the game, again you guys got this TOTALLY WRONG.
ReplyDeleteLOL, you haven't been paying attention! There have been several glitches that cost reward points. One for example was the Skill Point Reallocation Health glitch, players could permanently double their health scores by purchasing a health boost prior to purchasing a reallocation. That has never been rolled back. There are many others. The glitch I'm referring to only costs 4 reward points to craft all 18 properties in NY. That's hardly intentional.
DeleteJennifer, why don't you just post the glitch? With these things, it's much better for (a) everyone to be able to take advantage of it and/or (b) Zynga shut it down than (c) certain players in the know exploit something and gain an unfair advantage over others.
DeleteHonestly, I don't have time for this one. It has to be planned out just so. Directions were posted on the fan page a while back and I still haven't been able to do it. Bottom line here is unless Zynga lets us craft from all properties, exploits will be used. If they fix this one, someone will figure out another one. This one also risks a roll back as it would be quite easy to figure out who is doing it. I don't want to play a part in a roll back gone bad and have players lose more than what they gained. It's just not worth it.
DeleteCannot find the directions on the fan page, could somebody give me a link to that resource, I've got plenty of time right now to test this glitch.
Deleteas far as building new properties - that math is simple to me. If the loot can add 20 for each one and it has a skill of +5(except health) or more than it is worth building. Otherwise let it lie empty like I did with the middle bunch of properties.
ReplyDeleteFor actual builds the skill points follow the new good loot so it works out. Right now I get +5 energy, stamina, def and atk. Plus Henchmen for 3 of those.
The henchmen are the real kicker since it is hard to find henchmen elsewhere in the game
Anybody out there willing to explain the exploit MWLL is talking about (craft from more than 5 properties)? Is it spending reward points shortly before the timer to craft from 5 and then crafting from 5 other properties the normal way?
ReplyDeleteI do 6 NY properties per day at present.
ReplyDeleteI still prefer those old properties for their A/D - the loot is not worth having when you get to a certain level but the A/D is - also for health I build the warthog.
To build 6, build the latest begging property in the box and then build 5 more of your choice.
Can't help with the glitch sorry and would not use it if there is any possibility of a rollback - they suck!
Old post, but I don't think Roll Back glitches which cost RP, they got your money and they are running :P
ReplyDeleteAny chance that this can be updated?
ReplyDeleteThis needs an update badly :)
ReplyDeleteA update please, all properties
ReplyDeleteThis is a very old post. I update each time new properties are added. That chart can be found with each new property post.
