As predicted from the loot items that were added to the inventory, there is a new generation of Collectable Stat Cards. Set 2 is called the Crime Boss Collection and all the cards feature bosses from the game. I’m still trying to get the loot from the first batch but the good news is the loot drop rate is better this time around and it may cause some to rethink the strategy of totally ignoring this feature.
Clicking the help mark opens up the in game instructions. They have changed to include the addition of a drop-down menu in the Collections & Vaults tab.

Collectable Stat Cards cost 15 reward points each or you can buy them in packs of 3 for 42 reward points. There are several different in game places where you can purchase them. Get them directly from the purchase buttons on the Home Page banner shown above. If you don’t want them, be careful because Zynga didn’t add a confirmation button for this set of cards. You can also buy them in the Marketplace under the “Playing Cards” tab.If you go to your Inventory Page and click on the Collections & Vault Tab, there is now a dropdown menu that offers both sets of cards.
Purchase buttons can be found on the Card Page as well.
The Set 2: Crime Bosses Page is the same as the Set 1: Crime Ring Page in that there are 5 series of 5 cards and 1 series of 5 reward cards. The only difference is the cards themselves. The background is a dark green as compared to the black of Set 1.
For each purchase made, the card(s) reveal themselves and fill their designated slot. Your stats are displayed and you can see how the card(s) you got improved them. Each card offers a different number and type of skill points. You have no control over which cards you get. It’s all random but you will see the common ones more frequently. It’s a little cheaper to buy them in packs of 3. If you want to keep buying them, there are also purchase buttons on the window.
Acquiring all of the cards isn’t as easy as it seems because you will get many duplicates. It’s not fun to invest 42 reward points and get 3 cards that you don’t need! The only saving grace is the skill points but there are cheaper ways to go about getting those.
Along the way, you will run into some interesting characters. For a guy who has supposedly vanished from the game, The Raven sure gets a lot of face time!
Jimmy Lechon is back and is once again flipping us off.
I guess they forgot about the friendlier finger filled version (1).
Once you get all 5 cards in the series, you will be granted the reward card.
When you click on the “See Reward” button, you will find a special loot item and the location you need to do jobs to get it. All 5 Reward Cards are shown below.
Once you own the Reward Card, the loot item will drop from all jobs in the area specified. The drop rates seem to be much better than they are with the first set of cards. I was able to get all 5 items and didn’t spend a whole lot of energy.
Series 1: NY Boss Tier
Series 2: New York Underboss Tier
Series 3: Brazil District 4 /Sao Paolo Tier
Series 4: Chicago District 5/ Lakeside Docks
Series 5: Las Vegas District 7/Area 51
You can get more than one of each item above. I did a 9,900 energy run in New York and 3 items dropped. I got 2 from doing jobs manually and now have a total of 5. Once you get all 5 Reward Cards, the Grand Prize item is automatically awarded and there is no need to farm for it like the other 5 items. The Blue Whale packs in stats of 205/205!
There are a total of 30 featured Crime Bosses. Each card contains a special description of the featured boss. The photo album below contains all 30 of these cards if you’re interested.
To demonstrate that these cards are a bad deal if all you care about are the skill points, I broke down the number of skill points I could gain by speeding up the crafting timers of the New York Properties. Crafting speed up costs 12 reward points so I could have bought a total of 75 with the reward points that were used on the Collectable Stat Cards. For collectors or players who like to buy loot, it may be worth it as you also get a powerful loot item and the chance to loot multiples of 5 decent items.
900 Reward Points 75 Speed Ups |
Property | Skill Points | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Attack | Weapons Depot | +6 | +450 |
Defense | Weapons Depot | +6 | +450 |
Health | Private Zoo | +20 | +1,500 |
Stamina | Chop Shop | +6 | +450 |
Energy | Chop Shop | +6 | +450 |
another kidding from zynga. thanks for this blog jen, but i will save my rp and in ny crafting. i did the first collectable soon not.
ReplyDeleteThis is YET ANOTHER instance where Zynga takes your RP from you, without any confirmation,if you accidentally click in the wrong place at the wrong time.
ReplyDeleteIts a good thing that CS agreed to return my 45 RP!
I cannot stand the fact that Zynga continues to do this!

Love that they include confirmation for a 5 RP purchase of arson/rack on boss fight, but no confirmation for a big purchase like these cards...
ReplyDeleteI spent over 1000 rp to get the full card set the week they came out. I've done nothing but jobs to obtain the "random" loot drops since. To date I've only received 23 drop items. That was only after I complained to Zynga. These 23 include only 2 NY items since nothing but NY drops for me. When I complained again they told me it is random and to keep trying. I've estimated that I have used in excess of 800 THOUSAND energy doing 18,500 jobs for 23 drops? What a rip off.
ReplyDeletei really wish zynga makes the card as loot from gameplay (jobs, fights, robs, events, etc)
