Math and computer geeks who play Mafia Wars got very excited when they noticed that the number displayed on the Odds in Favor consumable is pi (π).
Pi is the ratio of a circles circumference to its diameter and approximately equals 3.14. I guess what makes it so fascinating is that the exact decimal representation of it never ends. Team Spockholm got a little bit too excited over this and they can’t stop talking about it.
Pi is a much bigger deal than one would think. There are countless websites devoted to it, books, songs you name it. March 14th is recognized by some as Pi Day. Some people are very passionate about this irrational number!
Pi is not only for the nerds, dorks and geeks. The cool kids and rappers like it too. The video below showcases a Pi Rap Battle at a High School. I really liked the song and now maybe I like Pi too!
Thanks to everyone who commented or mentioned Pi when the Odds in Favor was released. If you were the very first person in the world to recognize this, please comment so you can get the proper credit you deserve!

Is Zynga making a comment about their shelf-life and exit strategy?
I'm sure many noticed it, but I'll be the first to comment here...heh. I remember seeing on the news a few years ago that the numbers were found to repeat at some ridiculous number. However, while looking online the only thing I could find was that it had sequences that did appear throughout the sequence of numbers. Now, I am on a mission to try and find that bit of info. It was SUPER computer that was used to find the bit of info I was speaking of.
ReplyDeleteWe can't have our cake and eat it too.So they gave us pie.

ReplyDeleteZynga is running out of ideas to spam us with. No limited time property, no limited time mission, no new random mini-game designed to rip off our reward points, no other ways to rip off the reward points. Be happy about it.
Deleteand you have a lot of time to even comment on it.

ReplyDeleteMost interesting bit about Pi is that ANY given sequence of digits appears in its decimal representation!
ReplyDeleteThat is not unique to Pi.
