By now most of us are very familiar with the link that will filter and group all Mafia Wars requests in your newsfeed view. Facebook often changes things and this link has been very helpful during times in which Mafia Wars requests don’t appear in your newsfeeds. Players who now have Timeline are finding that it’s difficult to view their own Mafia Wars requests and players who visit the wall of those who have Timeline often run away before helping. Thanks to Brandon Venery, there is a way to create a personalized link to act in the same manner as the link below.
All you need to do is add “app_10979261223” to your Facebook Profile URL. Players either have numbers or personalized letters for their Facebook ID# and because of this, there are two different ways to create a personalized link. If a Facebook ID# is personalized, add “/app_10979261223” after the profile URL. If the ID# is just numbers, add “&sk=app_10979261223”.
Brandon created a script which will do it all for you so there is no guess work or messing with link construction. This will make visiting walls and viewing your own requests much easier. This system only works when viewing profile pages that have the Timeline application installed. You might want to bookmark this post because soon we will all have it.
To create your personalized link or one for a mafia member you frequently visit, follow the instructions below.
1. Click, drag and drop the bookmarklet below to your bookmark toolbar.
MW Timeline |
2. Go to your Facebook Profile Page or one of a mafia member who has Timeline. I’ll use my alternate account as an example.
3. Click on MW Timeline which should now be in your bookmark toolbar and all and nothing but Mafia Wars requests will appear in a more organized fashion.
Thanks for the post, love the bookmarklet.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Brandon for the update, and for publishing here where it's readily available.
ReplyDeleteNote that there is a new (or at least recently discovered) glitch with Timeline as regards game posts - many of us have been using the method of adding text to the "Say something about this" box of our game posts to get them to sort properly.
ReplyDeleteHowever, as of this morning I noticed that some posts of others aren't visible even where this has been done. Apparently FB is now selectively filtering posts when you visit others who are stuck with Timeline, and there does not seem to be any way to make all of them appear.
Fantastic and Thank you !!!!
