As mentioned in the By The Bookie Walkthrough, two new features of the Secret District were added. There is a Boss Fight that we can perform once per level and these annoying creatures called Bandits. In a surprise move, the Official Mafia Wars Blog posted something useful that didn’t only involve the Marketplace. Go here to read the entire post. If you need the Boss Fight combo codes, they are shown below.
Team Spockholm is working on a fix for the Bandits and a Secret District Boss Fighter is entering beta testing. If you have the Golden Toolbar, you may already have it.
I’ve reprinted the explanations of the Bandits and the Boss Fights.
Q: What is new and different in this Secret District?
A: There are 2 new features introduced in this Secret District:
- Bandits
- Secret District Boss Fight
Q: Who are the Bandits?
A: Bandits will drop randomly during jobs. These Bandits are out to steal your XP and Cash. They can also block your access to Jobs.
Q: How many types of Bandits are there?
A: There are three types of Bandits:
The XP Bandit steals XP earned while doing a Job. Eliminate him before the time runs out to reclaim your stolen XP and earn a special loot item.
The timer displayed above the Bandit indicates the time left to eliminate.
The amount of XP stolen by Bandit is displayed at the bottom.
The Cash Bandit steals Cash earned while doing a Job. Eliminate him before the time runs out to reclaim your stolen Cash and earn a special loot item.
The timer displayed above the Bandit indicates the time left to eliminate. The amount of Cash stolen by Bandit is displayed at the bottom.
The Job Bandit blocks your access to a particular Job. Eliminate him before the time runs out to complete the Job and earn a special loot item.
Please note that you won’t be able to progress in a job while the Job Bandit is active.
Q: How can I stop or eliminate the Bandits?
A: A Bandit can be eliminated by a Sniper. When the Bandit appears, click on Eliminate and your Sniper will lay him to rest.
Q: Who is a Sniper?
A: A Sniper is a member of your City Crew. Recruit a friend as a Sniper in order to take out the XP, Cash or Job Bandit.
When the Bandit appears, click on Eliminate and your Sniper will lay him to rest.
Please note: Each time you eliminate a Bandit using a Sniper, a City Crew member is consumed from the queue. Stay vigilant, and keep recruiting!
Q: When I click on Sniper, it does nothing. How can I allocate my City Crew to fill in for Sniper?
A: You cannot allocate your City Crew for Sniper. The unused City Crew will be used as Snipers when required.
Q: What if I do not have any City Crew?
A: If you don’t have any City Crew, you can recruit your friends as Sniper. You can also purchase a Sniper using Reward Points.
Q: Do I get the Stolen XP/Cash back if the Bandit is eliminated?
A: Yes, you will get the stolen XP or Cash back after you eliminate the Bandit. In addition to this, you’ll also receive special reward loot for successfully eliminating the Bandit.
Q: What if I do not eliminate the Bandit and the time runs out?
A: In the case of XP and Cash Bandits, the Bandits will vanish with XP or Cash which you earned while the Bandit was active. In case of Job Bandit, the Bandit will just vanish and you’ll be able to resume the job.
Secret District Boss Fight
Q: What is the Secret District Boss fight?
A: With the new Secret District, we have introduced Secret District Boss Fight. After you complete all 9 jobs in the new Secret District, you get to fight the Secret District Boss – Carlo the Coach.
Q: I have completed all the jobs, do I still need to defeat the Boss to complete Secret District Mastery?
A: Yes, you need to defeat the Boss to complete Secret District Mastery.
Q: What are the Mastery Levels and Rewards for Secret District Boss fight?
A: Every time you defeat the Boss, your progress will be counted towards the Mastery of SD Boss Fight.
Q: Are there consumables for this boss fight?
A: Yes. There are four different of consumables that are available to help you with this boss fight. These are:
Crack of the Bat – Drops from Robbing
Knife Slash – Drops from Jobs
Knuckles Punch – Drops from Fighting
Odds in Favor – You can ask your friends for this item or buy using Reward Points
Q: Do I need stamina to fight the Boss?
A: You do not necessarily need Stamina to fight the Boss. You can use the consumable weapons – Crack of the Bat, Knife Slash, Knuckles Punch and Odds in Favor to fight the Boss.
Q: How do I attack the boss?
A: You can use the consumables that you have collected to attack the boss, or you can attack directly using the stamina attack button located directly under the consumables on the boss fight screen.
Q: What is the difference between attacking the boss with consumables and attacking him with my stamina?
A: Stamina attack uses up Stamina and the base damage you do is based upon attack strength. Consumables do not use Stamina and they do a fixed amount of damage.
Q: Can we use the consumables in specific combos to deliver an extra punch?
A: Yes! There are a total of three combos that can be used to deal incrementally more damage to the Boss. You must use the correct order of four Weapons (consumables) in a row to unlock special combos.
These combos can also be unlocked using Reward Points.
PS: Help us make better Mafia Wars features and events by completing this very quick survey to let us know what you think of this one.

First "Boss" needs around 1,600 to 2,000 Stamina without boosts, kinda sucky that there is no timer to lower it :(
ReplyDeleteNot related to this particular post, but the new blog format is really terrible. It just "looks" more organized - to the reader it's more difficult to find stories, to follow them, to move from one to the next, etc. It may temporarily increase clicks by having to go extra steps to find what used to be readily available, but it won't take people to get tired of doing that at which point readership will begin to decline - sounds rather like what's happened and continues to happen with MW actually.
ReplyDeleteYou need to give me time to finish everything. I will be better. Unfortunately Zynga kept me busy and I haven't had time to finish everything. I'm not trying to get more traffic, if I wanted that, I would blog about something else. I'm learning html and what can be done with websites. My blog is the perfect testing area for that. I'm also trying to prevent the sites that copy/paste my content. I've made it too easy for them. They will still do it but it will take more work. If people stop reading because they don't know how to use the archives then there isn't much I can do about that. I predict a drop in traffic due to people quitting the game and eventually it won't be worth blogging about anymore. What I have learned will help me find something else to spend my time on.
DeleteIt is very troublesome to open one article ,read it and then go back tp read next one...previously when all articles were on one page it was easier ....
DeleteI have to agree.. I think the main issue we have is: All articles require u to expand them, and once you click 'read more' to see a whole article, you no longer have the archive that used to be on the right side of the page. So its hard to keep your place chronologically. BUT, if you just keep scrolling you will realize its now at the bottom. Keep up the good work!! :-) This is still by far the best source for MW info.
DeleteThanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the previous post. The blog looks great. However, I don't like having to open so many windows to read the posts. Otherwise I do enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteTAHNK YOU for all you do. If I have to click one or more times more, I can live with that. Thank you again.
ReplyDeleteThis bandit crap has pushed me to the limit of leaving the game! Now my gift center is mostly CREW REQUESTS and nothing useful for me so gifts are worthless now. If i had not purchased 2 1000rp packs i would be gone by now
