The new Secret District is in Brazil and called Snake Island. For some history about Snake Island check out this post on the Mafia Wars Maniac Blog. It will be available for two weeks. The job experience/energy ratios are nothing to get excited over. The only one over 2.0 requires a consumable. The energy are a little lower than previous Secret Districts. I didn't need to purchase any additional job equipment so that should help players who are short on Real.
Get to Snake Island from the Home Page banner.
The Brazil Job Page via the "Secret Districts" button.
Or the Travel Bar.
The district image changes slightly and tells a story as you progress through each level.
Bronze
Silver
Gold
Ruby
There are a total of 9 jobs and here are the requirements and payouts for each job on each level. One job requires 13,000 Real per click and 3 jobs require a consumable item.Bronze
Silver
Gold
Ruby
The consumable item needed for Snake Island is the Antivenom. You can Antivenom by doing the third job "Contact A Snake Expert". The job costs 90 energy on the Bronze Level so if you prefer this method over free gifts, farm them early. For details on the best strategy to farm consumables, go here.
The drop rate is about 50%. Here is a 100 job run and I only got 50 Antivenom. By the way, RepeatJob Brazil works just fine in the Secret District.
The easiest way to get a Antivenom is to use the free gift system. Use the link below to go directly to the send page.
Three of the 9 jobs require Antivenom. The 5th, 7th and 9th jobs require one consumable per click.
By using the mastery percentages of the jobs above, you can figure out how many Antivenoms will be needed to fully master this Secret District. 225 Anitvenoms is the magic number.Job | % Mastery | Antivenom/Level | Total |
5 | 7 | 15 | 60 |
7 | 5 | 20 | 80 |
9 | 4 | 25 | 100 |
Grand Total | 240 |
The experience/energy ratios for each level are listed below. Once again, this is a disappointing Secret District as there are no good ratios unless you have an unlimited supply of Antivenom. To save energy don't forget to use your Strategist bonus, ask your mafia to help (you can only do this once per day) and try to get 2X Mastery Boosts for the Bronze-Gold Districts. This will be a finish and forget about feature. You can get much better job ratios in Brazil and Chicago.
Job | % Mastery | Bronze | Silver | Gold | Ruby |
1 | 6 | 1.82 | 1.89 | 1.94 | 1.94 |
2 | 4 | 1.50 | 1.56 | 1.60 | 1.60 |
3 | 8 | 1.80 | 1.87 | 1.92 | 1.92 |
4** | 8 | 1.55 | 1.61 | 1.65 | 1.65 |
5* | 7 | 1.87 | 1.94 | 1.99 | 1.99 |
6 | 8 | 1.85 | 1.91 | 1.97 | 1.97 |
7* | 5 | 1.80 | 1.87 | 1.92 | 1.92 |
8 | 5 | 1.82 | 1.89 | 1.95 | 1.95 |
9* | 4 | 1.94 | 2.01 | 2.07 | 2.07 |
**Requires 13,000 Brazil Real per job.
There are 4 loot items that randomly drop from all jobs of the Secret District.
Twin Fangs
Snake Catcher
Bothrops Brazili
Slither
Run the Show Worst Items bookmarklet by Team Spockhom to see if any of the loot will help you. None of it will help me so this is even more reason not to spend too much time in Snake Island.
When you fully master each level, you get a mastery item called the Lancehead Hydra. The stats start off as 54/120 on the Bronze Level and improve to 78/180 for the Ruby Level. If it weren't for this item, I would totally blow off this Secret District.

Thanks - great information, timely as always! :)

ReplyDeleteNew math? I'm old skool. I can't make 4x anything come out to an odd number. Didn't take near that many to clear, even accounting for 2x loot boosts, more in the neighborhood of 160.
@Grumpus, you have to round up for the 5th job because it doesn't divide into 100 evenly (can't have partial clicks).
ReplyDeleteAlso that is the straight up number assuming you don't use any boosts or bonuses.
ReplyDeleteJob 5 should say 4 X 15 = 60
ReplyDeleteGrand total 240
@Anonymous, thank you very much. That would better explain why the math wasn't working out for Grumpus. Made the edit. I should focus more when I make those charts. I did the same thing on the last Secret District.
ReplyDeleteLove ya anyway. Buy you a beverage next time I stay at Sam's Town.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but so far to me looks like another new area of Brazil I don't have the money to do just like the others.
ReplyDeleteregarding the money, it's quite easy to get it! I do it very often in order to help my maffia friends! Find you someone who has lots of Real, check if he's weaker than you are weather in attack or defense! Let him get an amount out of the bank! Kick him out of your maffia for a while! Attack, or let him/her attack you depending if stronger in attack or defense!
ReplyDeleteThe money will roll in! Make sure to bank often so other possible attackers don't ripoff your collected money! Enjoy!
The first few secret districts were expensive and I was disappointed that you didn't at least get a reward for the level you finished when it ended. And so the last two I didn't bother doing. I had noticed that those that had finished Brazil the secret districts were easier and cheaper. I have to say it would be more encouraging to others if you received a reward for the level you finished at the time the district ends. For those of that are of lower levels it takes the wind out of your sails to even try the next secret district.
ReplyDeleteSo I completed the Secret District Level 3 of Brazil about an hour ago, refreshed about 3-4 times, restarted my browser & still I cant get it to go to level 4. All the jobs say 100% mastered. Anyone else having this problem?
ReplyDeleteWorthless loot, weak ratios ... pointless & unimaginative waste of time
ReplyDeleteagreed .. one benefit not discussed here is the additional skill points you get when you complete the district.. skill points are not easy to come by and for people like me who just repeat jobs to level up it is welcome benefit.
