It seems that with every new property the rules on how we can request and send parts change. The Toy Store is the 9th Limited Time Upgrade Constructed Property and there are a few changes. Once you know how building part requests work, you can formulate your strategy to upgrade. We were given 8 days to upgrade the Toy Store which is much less than the 14 days for the Botanical Garden. The Botanical Garden required a total of 292 parts to fully upgrade and the Toy Stores requires 204. The required building part reduction is not very proportional to the 6 day timer reduction. Strategy is important because there is no longer the luxury of time.
Level | Naughty List | Plaster | Cordless Drill | Total |
1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 3 |
2 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 3 |
3 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 6 |
4 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 9 |
5 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 12 |
6 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 15 |
7 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 30 |
8 | 12 | 12 | 12 | 36 |
9 | 14 | 14 | 14 | 42 |
10 | 16 | 16 | 16 | 48 |
Grand Total | 68 | 68 | 68 | 204 |
As with all the other properties, there are two types of requests, any part and individual part. You can make these two requests once every 8 hours. The any part request is pretty straight forward. Click the "Ask" button located on the Home Page.
Once your post is published to your wall and the news feeds it will remain active until 6 people click on it.
The post will net you any 6 parts and they are added from left to right. If you need more than 6 Naughty Lists, then all parts sent from this request will be Naughty Lists.
In the early levels there is carry over which is a change from last time. The any part request on level 0 will gain you enough parts to get to level 2.
Once you get to Level 1, you need to upgrade to keep your request active. If players try to send you parts and you haven't upgraded, it will say "Thanks for helping! Your friend has all parts needed for this level.". As soon as you upgrade the post will generate parts as long as people click on it.
The any part request remains active until you receive 6 parts. Once that happens the requests expire. Zynga makes it a little confusing because once these requests are expired they say "All rewards from this feed have been claimed".
Once a new any part request is made, all any part requests made prior to it will say expired. I think all any part requests should say this but the most recent one does not.
Individual part requests can also be made once every 8 hours and you get to choose which part you would like your mafia members to send you. To make a individual part request, click on the "View Parts" button located on the Home Page. From there, click on the "Ask for More" button of your choice.
The item and the time you generate the individual part request will make a difference in how fast you get your property upgraded. Unlike any part requests, individual part requests aren't limited. The same request will work as long as you need the part you requested. Because any part requests fill up from left to right, it's best to choose your individual part request from right to left so they don't interfere with each other. You don't want the individual part you selected to be sent via a any part request or you won't gain as many parts as possible.
In the example below, I requested the Cordless Drill for my individual part request. I knew I would get Naughty Lists from my any part request and I could post them at the same time. If I chose the Naughty List instead, it would have been best if I waited to make the any part request until I had the Naughty Lists filled.
When your mafia members click on your individual part requests, you will either get the part or be told that you have all the parts you need. These requests only expire once you make a new request.
Once you upgrade, the individual request will work towards the next level and you can keep getting parts until you are full or a new individual part request is made.
If only need a few building parts to get to the next level and don't mind spending a few Reward Points, you can upgrade and use the same individual part request to fill up your next level. It will keep working as long as you need that specific part. In the example below, I used an any part request to get 6 Naughty Lists and needed 4 more to upgrade. I purchased these 4 parts to make the upgrade to Level 7 and was able to use the same individual request to get 12 more Cordless Drills.
Because the news feeds get saturated with property part requests and we are limited on how many we can send in a day, you may find your requests don't always get a good response. To keep them circulating in the news feeds or to add them to a group wall, make a link from your original request. Do this by right clicking over the blue text in the request and select "Copy link address".
Go to a url shortening service such as tinyurl.com and paste the link into the box.
Copy your shortened url and get your request back into the news feeds or group pages.
If you want to get an any part request link on your family or group wall, use the Mission Crew Link Spocklet to get a spockon.me link. It will only work when the "Ask" button is available. Team Spockholm will have this updated soon to include individual request as well which will eliminate the need to make tiny urls.
Click on "Post to wall" to get the request in your news feeds or copy the spockon.me link and paste it to a group page.
We are limited to how many parts we can send our mafia per day. According to the requests, this number is 5 but most find they can send more than this a day.
I ran the Stream Scanner by Team Spockholm and clicked on all the property part request links. In this scan alone, I was able to successfully send 12 parts. I had manually helped a few players in my family before that. Once you get the message shown above, it seems to hold. I couldn't figure out a pattern or make sense as to why you can send more than 5 parts but you can.
The last thing you can do to get more property parts is collect them from your news feeds. Look for upgrade bragging requests and click on "Get Parts".
You will get a part that you need and that part is determined from left to right just like the any part requests.
You need to be fast with these because only the first 5 players will get a part. If you are too late, you will be told. This can be annoying and is like trying to find a skill point in a Daily Take post.
To make it easier, use the Stream Scanner and click on the Get Parts links under the "limitedTimeProperty" Tab. You may have to do a few runs to find 4 active requests.
There is another discrepancy with what you are told and what happens regarding these requests. When you hit your limit you are told "You have already collected 3 parts today" but you can actually collect 4. If you don't believe me, try it and see.
Zynga should really increase the timer on the Toy Store. If you set alarm clocks to go off every 8 hours, you should be able to get 144 parts from any part requests alone. When you factor in the individual parts and news feed collections it sounds reasonable. Zynga must have forgotten that it is the holiday season and not everybody can be on line every 8 hours to generate spam requests.
In the big picture of game strategy, you only need to get to Level 7. The loot will soon be obsolete and the skill points are the same for Level 7 as they are for Level 10. Since we can only craft from 5 properties a day, blowing this off completely wouldn't be a big deal. The only problem with the last two options is that we have seen Zynga change the rules of the game way too many times. You never know what they could do with all these properties in the future.
Thanks to my mafia members, the {ASS} Family and Elizabeth Martinez for helping me verify the information in this post.

This is IN - SANE!!! I am Dana Carvey, doing George HW Bush... "Not gonna do it, not gonna do it..."
ReplyDeleteVery helpful, TY!
ReplyDeletethere is a glitch I did not see mentioned here, or I missed it...if you are going to ask for the any part...before you click open a few tabs. that way you can ask for any part a couple of times in case the first is already clicked on 6 times. very handy when you have more then 1 account yourself.
ReplyDeleteit worked for me. am on level 9 and have 29/48 parts needed for level 10 within a little more then 1 day. could have finished it already if I opened even more tabs lol...hope it helps you get it before time runs out....keep up the good work lootlady !!!!
I am sick of properties. I am tired of all the bugs in this game. I am tired of inconsistant software releases. I am tired of rule changes. I am tired of this game not working in unframed mode. I am tired of Zynga. This is supposed to be fun, not a chore. I will probably become a non-player statistic soon. I don't think zynga gives a crap about players and this game reflects it. Zynga(maybe I should insert Pincus here) does not understand, I will not start playing another one of their games. Mafia Wars has taught me I don't have time for these games. I remember back when Cuba came out and the game was fun. Oh well time to get on with my life.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you guys just stop complaining? Either you do it or you don't.. or better yet, do yourselves a favor and quit the game. No matter how much you rant, time has proven that Zynga doesn't give two sh*ts about us, more so if you're not a CC player.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can tell, the 5 parts rule "usually" means 5 drills, 5 naughty lists, and 5 plaster. Mostly, it follows true, except when zynga can't count, lol.
ReplyDeleteAny reason to build it?
ReplyDeletenope! not for me not building this one no reason at all!
