Farewell To The Error Pig

Once the gifting system was updated to no longer accommodate Facebook requests, we were introduced to the df-98 error code. Zynga didn't bother to define it and all you got was an Error Pig and a message that stated "Something went wrong when you tried to accept this request from XXX".

A few days later, the df-98 error was defined. The Error Pig was still in the spotlight but the message read "The gift link you clicked is invalid because it was likely created by a third-party tool that does not support recent changes to the Mafia Wars gifting system. Please use the in game Message Center for all of your gifting needs."

If you click on any gift links today, you get the following message "Free gifts can only be accepted via the in-game Message Center" sans the Error Pig.

The Error Pig was introduced on March 9th.  Many members in the Mafia Wars community had a good time making fun of the Error Pig and portrayed his demise in many different graphic images.

Who knew that Zynga would be the ones to murder the Error Pig? I always thought he was cute and will miss him.

If you are going through Error Pig withdraws, Team Spockholm currently has a living one. When one of their shortened links don't work, you will get him. If you must see him now go to http://spockon.me. It is unclear if Team Spockholm plans on killing him off or not. I hope they let him live on and prosper.
