When Missions were first introduced into the game, there were 3 types. City Specific Missions, Contract Missions and Special Event Missions. In January, a fourth type called were Level 100 plus Missions were added. Zynga later called these D-List Missions and removed all 17 of them from the game in August (1). Contract Missions are going to be removed 10 days from now on December 29th at 6am PST. They say there will be a "Mission content refresh" but I wouldn't hold my breath.
