This & Next Week, there is 2X Mastery in Chicago from now until the last minute of December 27th (PST). This is great news for players who haven't finished Chicago.
The burning question that many have is if 2X mastery applies to the Secret District. The answer is a big NO. The 6th job of the Lexington Hotel offers 4% mastery per click on all levels. Here is this job at 0% mastery. I dd one job and only got 4% mastery. I'm surprised they were able to code this not to offer the mastery!
This works just like the Brazil 3X mastery did except you only get one additional round of mastery per click instead of two. The District 5 job "Hijack a Rival Ship" normally offers 5% mastery.
During 2X Mastery, you will get 10% per click.
Activate your Strategist bonus and you will get 15% mastery for this job. You only get one more round of 5% mastery, not double the 2X mastery. The Strategist can be activated once every 8 hours and is good for 20 jobs.
Use a 2X Mastery Boost for the bronze-gold levels and get another 5% mastery per click. If you use one in conjunction with the Strategist bonus, you will gain 20% mastery on the job used in this example.
The loot item that randomly drops is the Stray Pistol. It's an attack weapon and will not help the masses.
The drop rate is about the same as the Standing Jet Skies from Brazil. The Lockpick Bonus won't help because it doesn't apply to this item. The best job to do is "Secure Hooch to Sell in Your Joint" in District 2 because it has an experience/energy ratio of 2.14 which is the best you will find in Chicago.
I did this job 500 times (162,000 energy) and got 92 Stray Pistols. That averages out to about 1 item per 1,761 energy.
Use the Show Worst Items Spocklet to see if it will help you. My lowest attack weapon has stats of 110 so there is no reason for me to bother with this event.
Players who maxed out on Old Cannons during the Return To Cuba Event and/or have a lot of Boss Fight loot shouldn't bother either. The Brazil 3X Mastery Event was a lot more fun because there was incentive to do as many jobs as possible. The Chicago 2X Mastery Event is just something nice for players who haven't mastered Chicago.
