The Day 2 Deal of the 7 Days of Holidays Event is now available. If you purchased the Day 1 Deal, you can now buy the Day 2 Deal which is 2 Ice Climber's Axes for 40 Reward Points.
The mathematicians out there gave me a hard time for not properly interpreting the instructions that Zynga put out for this event. They were later updated but they are still inaccurate if you take them literally. It clearly states that you can only buy a deal "as long as you have purchased at least one more previous deal". The key words in that phrase are "one more". If I were to take these instructions literally, I wouldn't be able to buy Deal 2 unless I purchased 2 Deal 1 items. I don't care what anybody says in the comments, one more than one is two. All items are on a 1:1 ratio. You only have to buy 1 of each to get them all.
Now that the second gift is available, we see that's not the way it works. To unlock the current day Deal, in this case Day 2, you need to purchase on Day 1 Deal. This image was taken from an account that doesn't have a Day 1 item. There is a purchase button over the Day 1 Deal and it says "Buy Day 1 Deal to unlock".
I purchased a Day 1 Deal yesterday and this image shows that I'm eligible to buy the Day 2 Deal.
When you purchase Deal 2, you get a congratulatory message and 2 Ice Climber's Axes.
The purchase button will disappear and it says "Buy Day 1 Deal to buy again".
If you you purchase a Day 2 item, the two loot items come out to 20 Reward Points each which is a better deal than Day 1.
If you buy 1 of each deal for 7 days, you will have a total of 28 loot items for 280 Reward Points. When it's all said and done, you are spending 10 Reward Points per item if you buy all the deal. I think Reward Points are better spent building your characters skills but if you buy loot, this is a good deal. Once all this loot is obsolete or Mafia Wars shuts down, it won't seem like it was a good deal but for now it is.

Thanks to Mike Nestor for the screen shots. I was short on Reward Points and for some reason Zynga doesn't want my money. I attempted to buy more and have been getting this message all day long. Customer Support told me to wait but seriously? If people want to give you money, wouldn't you figure out a way to take it?

7 days of holidays is not a bad deal. i'm doing all 7 at least once. and i also got the same error message but eventually it worked. what i am really hoping for is another big marketplace sale for either christmas or new years. i usually load up on those 6 RP crates. and yes, the wording on the 7 days of holiday instructions are very poorly written.

ReplyDeleteif you are spending more than $10 on RPs, buy facebook credits first you will get 5% extra credits at $10, 18% extra at $200 (10 fb credits is $1 to zynga, and they automatically take your fb credits first).
