The Rules of Conduct have been changed. Many are finding that they got warnings or banned without knowing why. Go here to read the updated policy. For now the only approved outside link that can be posted on the forums is the Mafia Wars Wiki. I love the Mafia Wars Wiki and hands down it's the best site about Mafia Wars but it is missing one thing...an opinion. Zynga doesn't care for sites like this one because we post about their bugs and glitches. I think I need to step it up a notch and start posting more content that they don't like. Players who have links (other than the Mafia Wars Wiki) in their signature, must remove them if they want to continue to post on the forums.

Updated: Mafia Wars Approved Links Hey Mafia Community, By now, we all should have reviewed the Updated Rules of Conduct. With a change in the global forum policies comes a change in the Mafia Wars Forum policy. Until further notice, the only link approved for posting on the forum (with the exception of the Add Me thread), is going to be the Mafia Wars Wiki. We expect our approved fan sites to shine a positive light on both Mafia Wars and our Community, and the Mafia Wars Wiki is the perfect example of this. If you currently have an unapproved link in your signature, please take the time to remove it. As the moderation team encounters these links, we will remove them and send a courtesy message to help ease this transition. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact either myself, or Rinzler via private message. Thanks, Mafia Wars Community Team __________________ |

Please don't take this as a challenge to "step it up a notch" in your comments. Your blog used to be fun and informative but now it's all negativity and probably contributes to the lack of player retention you so often comment on.
ReplyDeleteYou still visit because it is informative. Fun?....maybe not as it's not really fun for me anymore. The negativity can be attributed to Zynga not giving a crap about the players anymore and that is why player retention is down. It has nothing to do with me. I can't help it if this is where players come to get their information because I take the time to fact check and pre-answer most of the questions people would have. This should be done by someone at Zynga, not me. Why I keep doing it is still a mystery. Someday soon I will say F it!
ReplyDeleteI just have to comment on this.. Loot Lady.. you show...as best as you can.. details about everything in MW... the good, bad and the ugly.. both from a players perspective and from zynga's side. I, along with many others appreciate everything you do. sooo to the haters.. don't read it.. and to those who like and appreciate the help... DONATE.. hey every lil bit helps :-)
ReplyDeleteDoubt this has to do with the fact you express your opinions and more to do do with the fact that the majority of your posts break Zynga's TOS. Don't take this wrong because I read your blog and love spockholm, but your link should have never been aloud on the forums to begin with according to the rules that they actually enforced for other sites besides yours.
ReplyDeleteWhat are they...Nazis? Good God!!!!

I quit playing Mafia Wars two months ago now and I couldn't be happier. The overloading of events with all the problems on top of it made it far easier for this 3 year veteran to quit than I would've imagined. I couldn't take any more.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I still stop by here from time to time to see what's happening with the game because Jennifer has by far the best information about the game. Her service is (was) invaluable to me.
Jennifer is absolutely right when she says that someone from Zynga should be doing her job. It's ridiculous that they aren't with all the money that they make on the game. Hell.. They should pay her for her service. Then again, we might not get unbiased information if that were the case. We don't need another Cerulean Master telling us that things are getting better when they really aren't. That's why I don't waste my time with the Zynga Forums.
Don't shoot the messenger here. If the information was more positive, I'm sure that Jennifer would be more positive about it. You don't blog about something and get nothing out of it if you hate it.
Jennifer didn't sway me to quit the game in the least. If anything she echoed my thoughts about the game. I had far too much of my life invested in the game to just up and quit. I probably hung on for 6 months to 1 year longer than I should've when I look back at it now. I kept thinking that things would get better and they weren't. They were getting worse. That's probably why I still drop by to see what's going on with the game even though I no longer play. I want to see if Zynga finally listens to their players or lets the game die.
"We expect our approved fan sites to shine a positive light on both Mafia Wars and our Community, and the Mafia Wars Wiki is the perfect example of this."
ReplyDeleteThis sentence is totally indicative of where Zynga's mindset lies. The day Jennifer's blog becomes a "Zynga approved fan site" is the day that I will know that Jennifer sold out.
I enjoy Jennifer's blog and feel that, when appropriate, she is very positive about the game.
The unrelenting bugs, glitches, bad game design, yada yada yada, need to be called out. I applaud Jennifer for doing exactly that.
If there weren't so many problems, unexplained new features, etc, I am confident that the blog would contain much more on the strategies within the game, types of families, etc, etc. And YES! EXCITEMENT about new and wonderful features in the game.
The fact that the game constantly changes is a key element to maintaining long term interest in the game.
It is so hard to think of a single instance where anyone, company, nation, etc, has ever been successful in controlling the "message". Zynga is entitled to their exercise in futility.
Meanwhile, don't give up your day jobs!
The MW forums is THE most over-moderated site I have ever been a member of.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to echo a big Thanks! to you, jen and the rest of the MWLL crew.
I much appreciate all the work you put into this. Thank you.
I'm on my way out as well after three years I stoped doing missions or operations a long time ago. Zygna has taken the fun out of game and made it a job,They just don't get it. Zynga games = No fun
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love the MW lootlady blog
What's really laughable about this game is that I'm a 2+ year player that has not been playing for 6 weeks now. When I look over all the new stuff in the game I'm completely lost. How is a new player expected to figure out all this crap?
