Save Don's Dinner is almost over. There are only 10 hours left to get as many Turkeys as you can and redeem them before somebody can steal them.
The event was not well planned and catered to bullies and players with a lot of alternate accounts. All those useless Reward Points sitting in serial leveling accounts finally had a reason to be used. It was very easy to steal Turkeys from any account that you could beat. It's not uncommon to see players who are maxed on Ruby Butlers. Unfortunately this event caused many players to give up and leave Mafia Wars.
You can use the Inventory Group Spocklet to see how many Butlers you got. I decided that I'm finished with this event and won't try to redeem anymore Turkeys. It was a lot of work to constantly farm Turkeys and get enough of them before my Turkey Protectors ran out. Many times I needed to redeem them before the Ruby Level because I could see in my player updates that I was being targeted by the same person. I never went off line with Turkeys in my inventory. I would rather redeem the ones I had for a less valuable item then let some douchebag who likes to sit on me get them.

Without using reward points, a player can only get 65 turkeys a day right?
ReplyDelete20 fights
20 jobs
20 feeds
5 from asking friends
I actually had turkeys stolen while I was trying to collect the Butler. Happened on more than one occasion. I am losing interest in participating in events like this. I got a couple of low level Butlers but gave up trying to get all levels of him.
ReplyDeletei managed 24 ruby butlers, cant imagine how some got 500
ReplyDelete@djiang09 ... All those methods and an unlimited number stealing them from rivals you ice.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous ... Simply run your health below 20 before you try to redeem. Can't be iced; can't lose turkeys.
Glad it's almost over. This 'turkey' event AND the ice season running concurrently ought to be reported as customer abuse.
did you use any reward points to get 24? Unless my calculations are wrong... 65 turkeys a day * 8 days = 520
ReplyDeleteSo that's only 5 Ruby butlers... Am I missing something?
I got one ruby level and that's all. I have one account and had a hard time getting the 100. I can't imagine getting 500..you are right..I almost quit. In the icing wars I only get ruby level 2...kept getting iced by the people after turkeys.
ReplyDelete@Grumpus Maximus: Oh so I get 20 from fights in general (not icing) AND I can get an unlimited amount from icing people?
ReplyDeleteThanks for clarifying, though I think I am done with that event... I only managed to get 1 of each level
I was out of town for most of this event but it was the worst event I have seen. I never got turkeys from fighting (and I did a lot of fighting) and only got a few from jobs. When I had protections they would disappear even if I didn't have turkeys to protect so I can only assume they were somehow used up unnecessarily when I was attacked. I ended up with 1 low level butler and that is all.
ReplyDelete@djiang09 no rps a few low multi accounts which i can put on my rivals list as soon as i accumulate the daily turkeys on each acct, then ice the hell out of them with assasinator set to rivals x8 days just done this ice week, bored now
ReplyDelete"This 'turkey' event AND the ice season running concurrently ought to be reported as customer abuse."
ReplyDeleteActually, the Ice Seasons should qualify for that distinction all by themselves - they're essentially pointles - even without this Turkey of an event.
And the game is so well designed that if someone fast clicks when collecting they can get three to five Butlers for every 100 Turkeys.
ReplyDeletethere was also a glitch when collecting the prize..click fast enough and u gain up to 4 items instead of one. never found that out until it was too late. only managed to get 9 ruby butlers from normal play.
ReplyDeletedjiang09: you could get an unlimited number from fights. That's what you're missing.
ReplyDeleteI've been playing for years and this is yet another event that pissed me off because I had no chance. I'm not sure if I'll ever quit (until the blessed bitter end), but I'll tell you one thing: Zynga will never get another dime of my money.
djiang09, yes. Each time you ice someone you can steal a turkey if they have turkeys and lack protection.
ReplyDeleteI have a level 94 account I am just starting up. It was shocking how many level 2000 and upwards just sat on that account for the turkeys. I have their links of course and will be stuffing them nicely for being the dirty bullies they are for some time to come. Just because Zynga are dumb, doesn't mean any of us HAD to behave like douches.
ReplyDeleteOut of curiosity, I started another account to check the "bully factor". This particular account is now at Level 26, with nothing but Level 3,00+ in his Attacker's List. I'm sure they found me on the Fight List....
ReplyDeleteAs for my main account, it was business as usual. I could care less about Turkeys and fought as usual, managing 12 Butlers.

Had they limited the ammount of Turkeys that you could get from icing this event might have would have been a lot more successful. Overall, this game has become about icing, and that means more and more people use whitelists, you need 150 a day for family progression, so people look for people they can beat, white list them then fight that whitelist every day, this is making the game incredibly redundant, and at the same time, frustrating for lower level users.
ReplyDeleteI am not so foolish as to think that Zynga has the creativity to give low levels a way to actually progress without sitting at zero health the whole time, but perhaps putting a little more emphasis on non-combat objectives until level 500 while offering incentives for robbing as opposed to purely icing might make family progression a little less frustrating.
here's a glitch. BEFORE you collect on ruby.. FAST click the collect button and you get a multiple butler ;)
ReplyDelete@ Frank...How do you think MWLL got all of her turkeys. She trolled the low level accounts like your new account for turkeys.
ReplyDeleteMarv
@Marv, you don't know what you are talking about so stop trying to act like you do. I trolled all my Turkeys from my own accounts. I didn't want to attack the same low level players over and over to steal their Turkeys so I improvised.
ReplyDeleteThe game would work better if they had more than the two fight tiers. A level 500 cannot compete with the level 2000's who keep hitting them, and leaves them with no way to fight.
