Many players are complaining because they are being tricked into buying Turkey Protection. I'm sure many of us have accidentally purchased a Boost Your Health Boost while manual fighting. It's probably no coincidence that it is located closest to the heal button. When the Hospital pops up on it's own and you are clicking fast, screen jumping gets you a health boost at the cost of 5 Reward Points. There is no confirmation to prevent this from happening.
This is now happening in the upward direction with Turkey Protection Boosts. It's probably not a coincidence that the "Buy 10 for 7 RP" button is in the direct line of fire as the attack button.
I was lucky to find a target with a lot of health and reproduced the problem that many are complaining about on the Mafia Wars Loot Lady Fan Page. When you run out of health right before the Hospital popup appears, the screen jumps in the upward vertical direction, just enough to get you to accidentally click and purchase some Turkey Protection. Just like with the health boost, there is no confirmation. To make it worse, they even congratulate as soon as the button is clicked.
I was able to capture some of this on video. You can see I'm just clicking away trying to get an ice then all of a sudden my screen jumps and I ended up clicking on the purchase button.
The good news is there is a work around (other than using the Assassin-a-Nator). This only happens when your Fight Module is docked. There doesn't seem to be a problem in the float position. Yesterday I told you about the return of the dock option which was removed to increase the performance of fighting (1). Today, the Official Mafia Wars blog got around to it. Below is what they had to say. They even provided instructions on how to dock yourself. Coincidence? I think not!
Just a heads up that the much-loved Fight module docking option has been restored. If your fight module is still floating, you'll find a "<< dock" link at the bottom of the module. (See it circled in green in the image below.) Clicking that link will snap that bad boy back in it's place.

ReplyDeletehey zynga if ur reading this , please fix it ASAP...i cant fight because im afraid to be rob by you!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you for the info! ZYNGA needs to Fix this asap, we should all report this asap. MAJOR problem as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps less with the fight window floating.. I lost 50+ RP while aggressively fighting last night.. Got them back when reported it to ZYNGA.. They said "we have no idea what it is" HA-HA-HA!!! LOL.. DIMWITS ..
ReplyDeleteHI!! and THANK YOU!!! It didn't even ask to confirm my purchase.
ReplyDeleteMz. LOOTLADY, you have some clout, can you guys (n' gals;) get them to have a "confirm" purchase for most of the the RP items? Might spare some problems in the future..
NOT on items all, just st*p*d cr@p like this! LOL.. I laugh but this is frustration up the ying yang... TY!!! <#
semi-anonymous, to lazy to log in.. :)
There is a simple solution to this: a confirmation dialogue. Every RP-based purchase should give you the chance to confirm or cancel. With the way the screen jumps around so much and things pop out of nowhere, I have wasted RPs many times. But I guess as far an Zynga is concerned it's just a happy little accident. It's a major piss off.
ReplyDeleteThey added a confirmation to this purchase, but the screen is sill too jumpy and too close to the heal pop out, and you could just hit the "confirm" button "inadvertently" as well.. I'm hitting the "attack" button to the far LEFT to avoid this! WHAT BUGS ME as well, is I haven't heard other players complain about this!!?? Im not a frequent RP buyer, BUT I do buy them occasionally when it on sale. BUT, we all collect them from leveling, red/blue/(insert other color here) mystery bags.. Cheers!
ReplyDeletewho the hell fights manually anyway
