More On New Warning Popup

Share:

A few posts down, I showed you a new warning popup that players are starting to see.
Cerulean Master responded to the forum post I linked. He says that accounts will get this popup if they are logging actions for 20 or more hours without a minimum of 4 hours in between.

Accounts that log actions for 20 or more continuous hours without a minimum of 4 hours in between are flagged and will receive this message. If this is not the case and you are seeing this message, please submit a ticket to Customer Support for investigation.

Unfortunately many players who are getting this popup do not fall into the category mentioned above (1). If Zynga wants to stop players from botting 24/7, they need to figure out a way so players not doing it don't get the message. It appears that those who leave their browsers open 24/7 are more likely to get the message. Many players do this but don't run bots or continuous scripts. This also sends a message that Zynga does not approve of auto-bots. If you get this message and you aren't a 24 hour bot, you need to start a ticket with Customer Support by going here.

  1. I had a weird thing happen with this notice. It didn't popup on my screen but I clicked a link to send cider house parts to a friend and copied the text to paste in comments letting her know I'd sent the parts--and when I went to paste it the notice was included in the text I pasted in! Where it came from I don't know but I did contact support to try to find out if the notice was directed at ME. I don't use ANY bots or scripts -- none at all but I DO leave my browser tabs open on MW and Facebook for hours on end. So I really don't know how or why I saw that notice.

  2. If Zynga really wants to end script use they simply need to rotate domain names on a Semi-daily basis. The script writers would be hard pressed to change the scripts every day.

  3. Could this be the beginning of the end for scripts

  4. "Could this be the beginning of the end for scripts"

I very much doubt it, just add into our code... auto log off...

    KC - playerscripts.

  5. Zynga's DAU is going nowhere but down...if ppl can't use simple scripts that make game playing a little easier and less time consuming, their DAU will be in the toilet. There's no way someone w/ a big acct is going to click 10K+ times to burn up all their stamina and energy.

  6. No... it's the beginning of the end for zynga's customer base. With actions like this, they can kiss their IPO goodbye. They're toast.

  7. I wonder if this is cookie based. Seems like a lot of overhead if they are recording this in a DB.

Maybe if it is cookie based a script could reset/clear it.

  8. Zynga will never be able to stop the script use. The Scripts/ Auto players are really the only thing keeping the game alive anymore.
