By now, most have heard the devastating news that Jose Perez, a Mafia Wars legend, has passed away. Jose was a true leader in the community and his brilliant notes were passed all over. I was honored whenever he would comment on this blog and appreciative that he enjoyed sharing his work. Other than a few inbox messages, I didn't get know Jose very well. I felt a deep sadness when I heard the news and I haven't been able to write about it as I don't know how to put it into words. I was so touched when I saw the tribute that Misty from Mystified Mafia Wars & Pimping made for Jose. I felt as if I got to know him better from watching the tribute and it made me wish I had more time to know him when he was with us. Misty was a good friend of Jose's and he was one of her admin. I don't think she will ever fill the void that he has left behind. Hopefully this video tribute can help us all cope and never forget Jose.
Misty also made this post and shared a message from Jose's father. It will bring more tears to your eyes but it helps to know that his family values the messages that Jose's friends have left on his wall.

ReplyDeleteJennifer, thank you for this. It is indeed very hard to articulate my own feelings about it all. I felt somewhat selfish for being so upset, knowing that his family and especially his parents must feel the loss even more, but in fact our shared expressions and memories of Jose have helped comfort his family and even shown them a part of Jose's world that they knew little of.

ReplyDeleteAlthough i didnt know him personally after watching the tribute to him and reading his Fathers post. I feel its safe to say that this is a tragic loss to many. My heart hurts and goes out to his Parents and Family. You all will be in my thoughts and Prayers. God Bless you all.
