The Case of the Disappearing Clams

Share:

This hasn't happened to me but I've seen one too many players report that their Chicago Clams mysteriously vanished. I can't pin point what is causing this to happen but it's as if the Clams just disappear into the Zynga Black Hole. If this has happened to you, please comment and let us know what you were doing at the time it happened or when you noticed it.

  3. It happened to me once. I have lost 50k Chicago Clams and I reported this problem to Zynga by email. They only gave 1k Chicago Clams as for the compensation.

  5. It seems to happen to me every few days. I haven't bought anything in Chicago since I have already mastered Chicago a long time ago. And the jobs that I do don't involve me spending any money. It's really strange.

  6. I thought I was the only one... Not sure what I was doing or even how many I had, probably somewhere between 100k and 200k but when I checked yesterday they were all gone...

  7. I had around 500000 clams deposited till last Friday. I don't have them anymore. At that time I was fighting on mutiple tabs (assasinator) and my guess is it used clams instead of dollars for healing

  9. It is not just clams. I had a lot of vegas money disappearing from my bank. I didnt buy anything nor do I heal with it. good thing is that it is not making my gameplay even more difficult. the ohter bugs do that.

  10. I have finished the current levels of Chicago and had several hundred thousand clams in the bank. Went to bank some more and only had a little over 1,000. I had been running assassinater and had negative numbers in both NY $ and clams.

  11. I have seen this. I traced the problem to enabling the Auto Heal option of the MW Addon in concert with Assassinator. What appears to happen is Assassinator travels back to it's home city (Chicago in this case) while the Auto Heal is trying to heal in New York. So you win up healing in Chicago. After a few of these heals your clams are 'missing'.

  12. Happened to me yesterday AM. I had just banked and went to start a job. I *assume* that my balance was in there when I banked but I really wasn't paying that much attention to it. When I went to buy for the job I got the "Not enough money" popup and that's when I found out my clams were 0'ed out.

  13. I haven't been paying any attention to my clams (and can't access mw to check from work) but this happens to me roughly every 2 weeks in Brazil -- I didn't notice it there until the limited time districts showed up and I had no money to buy the required items despite last having ~$30M in the bank. I tested this and it has nothing to do with assassin-a-nator. The money just disappears.

It's fairly innocuous since it's easy enough to rack up $$ fighting in any of these locations and cash has never been a real meaningful game variable outside of Bangkok. And they glitched the "bank $1M Clams" achievement and gave it to us all anyway. But it is annoying nonetheless, just because it's broken in such a ghetto way.

  14. Happened to me over the weekend. I had 250,000 Clams from fighting. Had checked them just Before I started my final round of gold level 3rd district. As I finished gold into ruby screen locked (grayed out, no spinning barrel.) I waited several minutes, but eventually hit refresh. When I started the ruby level a few minutes later I needed to buy city loot and it reported that I had zero clams banked. No scripts running, single window BTW. (RL)

  15. I lost 300k last week. I went to CS but they said: "We can't prove that you've lost your Clams, so we don't really care!"
    Didn't get anything.

  16. I lost over 240,000 clams on the morning of Oct 7th (Friday). When I logged in, to collect from properties, Bank said 600 clams, as I had posted that I had over 240K in my Family's chat the day before, I reported to Zynga -- no anomalies -- response

Also reported again as 'not good enough response', now they are saying it has been sent 'up the ladder'.

    :(

  17. I lost my clams twice now...both times I was fighting went to deposit clams and found my account cleaned out. over 350K first time and now 45K. Sent Zynga a note after the first time, they have not responded other than to say they are looking into it.

  18. It happened to me again this morning for the second time! It seems that it happens right after you complete a level of mastery in 1 of the 3 new districts in Chicago. I lost 500K the first time and this time I lost 238K! Zynga is making it hard enough to play but then they take away your $$$ required to build WTF? I contacted CS and they gave me the same canned respone I always get. "We are unaware of this problem and it will have to be escalated to a higher level technician. You should have a response within 48 hours" Ok, I am holding my breath that they actually take care of this!! NOT...........
