The property ring of Chicago is called the Bootlegging Operation and is found on the Property Page. You start out with 0 stars and dirt based platforms and can upgrade to 4 stars (10 levels per property). There are currently 3 properties the Truck Shop, the Speakeasy and the Warehouse. There are two more to come and we will probably see those when the 4th and 5th districts of Chicago are released.

Before you can start upgrading, you need to unlock each property. You do this by mastering the first job in each district on the Bronze Level. More details are provided below.
Once you unlock each property, they are ready to be upgraded to Level 1 without any building parts.
You can brag about your upgrading accomplishments along the way but these are useless posts and only direct your mafia members to their own Bootlegging Operations.
To upgrade past Level 1, you need to collect building materials. There are 5 different parts required to build all of the properties.
The good news is they are giftable and you can add them to your wishlist.
The even better news is they are also available through the free gift system and you can collect up to 200 parts a day. You won't find them on the Free Gift Page but they have been added to the Link-a-Nator. Look for Free Gift Links or use the Get-a-Nator.

Once every 24 hours you can ask your mafia to send you the property building part of your choice. You can receive a maximum of 5 parts for doing this. Hover your mouse over the part you want to receive and click on the "Ask Friends" button. This option is only available if you don't have enough parts to upgrade.
Once you click on the "Ask Friends" button a timer starts and you can't ask again for 24 hours.
Chicago building parts also drop while doing jobs but the drop rate is ridiculous. I've seen a total of 2 in the past week.
Below is a break down of how many parts you will need to upgrade each property. You will need a lot so it's best to collect as many free gifts as possible a day. You will need a total of 198 Union Workers, Carpenter Nails, Lath Strips and Douglas Fir Beams and 243 Iron Casts to upgrade all 3 of your properties. That's a grand total of 1,035 parts! No need to stop once you are fully upgraded because there are two more properties to come. I plan on collecting a total of 162 of each part and hope I can use them to upgrade the next two properties.

As soon as you build any of the 3 properties to Level 2 (upgrades to Level 1 don't count), you will get the Call It Capitalism achievement.
Below is an overview of each property of the Bootlegging Operation and what you can collect from them.
Truck Shop
The Truck Shop unlocks once you master the job "Meet With the South Gang Family" on the Bronze Level.
The Truck Shop generates revenue and you can collect on it every 8 hours. The higher your level, the more Clams you will get. The base payout starts at 5 Clams and you will get 50 Clams every 8 hours once you are fully upgraded.

As you master District 3, The Old Warehouse, your mastery item will grant you an increase in the base payout of the Truck Shop. Franky's Lucky Charm offers a +3, +7, +11 or +15% increase to the payout of all Chicago properties on the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Ruby Levels.
The Collect Button is located on top of the Property Page. It will most likely become a "Collect All" button when the 4th and 5th properties are added.
You payout will depend on your level, your District 3 mastery item, Chicago Taskmaster bonus, boosts and if you were robbed. It's always different depending on the variables.

The Speakeasy unlocks after you do master the job "Run an Illegal Establishment" on the Bronze Level.
As you upgrade your Speakeasy, you unlock a new consumable item with each level. I did notice that only of the consumable items are from Chicago. This could mean that these items will be needed in future Districts, Zynga will update the Speakeasy with new items or new Chicago consumable items won't be available from the Speakeasy.

The timer is activated once you make the first item and you can make additional items at any time during the 18 hours. If you want to make more items, you could use 12 Reward Points to reset the timer but that would be stupid.
It would be much cheaper to purchase the consumable items as they are available in the Marketplace for a much cheaper price. For 12 Reward Points, I could buy 24 consumable items instead of 6.
When you upgrade your Speakeasy to Level 10 you will get The Real McCoy achievement. I upgraded this property first because I like achievements.
The Warehouse unlocks once you master the District 3 job "Move Smuggled Liquor".

One item of your choice can be purchased with Clams. When you can purchase an item, the crafting icon will appear above the property.
If the item is unlocked and you have enough Clams, a green "Purchase" button will be available. Click on it to buy your item.
You can purchase one item every 23 hours. If you can't wait, there is always the option to speed up the timer for 16 Reward Points. Maybe if they would make the loot items better than those we can get from doing jobs and fights players would care enough to do that. There are no special abilities associated with any of the Warehouse items.
Here is a closer look at each item. The first thing you should notice is that all these items are giftable. The stats aren't every helpful but are much better than any other giftable loot out there. The Dapper Flapper has the highest stats of
Many are asking where is Chicago in Union Hall. The whole idea of Union Hall is to make it easier to collect on all your properties in one spot. Chicago currency is not very valuable so I don't mind for now. I hope they add it before the next two properties are available as we will probably get to collect energy and stamina like we do in Brazil.
